Live life like you mean it

About Me

I'm a strong minded, witty individual. I am allergic to ignorance and close-mindedness... which has caused me to move away from the small town of Fredericksburg, VA and into a more diverse city (Richmond). I've come quite a distance to know who I am and what I'm about, and it drives me nuts when people try to discredit me. I am quite young, and I have a lot to learn... but I get it... you might know a little more. Things that make me happy include, my friends and animals that keep me sane, beaches, the color black (know me for 10 minutes and you'll know that, though), skulls, snakes, chocolate, cereal; remembering... anything, when people move out of the way on the interstate, when I don't have to ask someone twice, common courtesy, having money in the bank, when good things happen purely by accident, the smell in a nail salon, orgasms, and so on.. and so forth.------------------------------------------------------ ----------------------------------I'm a full time student at VCU majoring in Business Mgmt. I live relatively close to campus, so I catch all the fun stuff, but I'm not forced to involve myself in every aspect of the college lifestyle on campus. e.g. Sorority and Fraternity stupidity.-------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------I have been a vegetarian for about 5 years now, and I think health-wise, it was the best decision I've ever made. It's allowed me to meet many different people, and learn all about proper nutrition. I can cook, unlike some of the people I've met, and I'm not too terrible at it.... Just ask Shelby or Leslie on my friends list.------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------As far as "friends" I have too many to count or mention here. My friends are some of the best people I know. A lot of them have helped me through my life in ways my family, who treats me like a total black sheep, never could. Besides human ones, there are two dogs, Ruby and Toby and they are down for anything; and my snake because she will go anywhere with me; and the new edition, Brayne! He's the most chill cat, and sweet too!-------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------I'm also into music, and I do my very best to make it to every show I think I'd like. I like heavy metal, and all that sort of thing, but I've been known to stray from the norm at times. I actually like, and listen to all the bands on my list, unlike those who just add them to fit in or be cool.

My Interests

I love playing drums as my first instrument, but I'm going to take another stab at guitar. Mostly, though I just play for fun, nothing fancy... I also love animals, and I would do anything for the sake of my "pets" although I don't really see them as pets. I am one of those people who really does see them as family. Yes, even my snake, she's the baby of the family, still figuring the world out.

I'd like to meet:

{{Generally people I can relate to}} {{Anyone interested in the bands I like}} {{Fellow vegetarians and/or "straight edge" people.... although I've recently starting drinking so...}}----------------------------------------------------- -----------------------------------IF YOU WANT TO REQUEST ME: Please tell me who you are and/or where I know you from. If I don't know you, tell me why I should. I'm a busy girl, and I don't have time to teach you how to be cordial and polite.... learn that on your own time. In the real world, do you just walk up to someone and say, "Hey? You wanna be my friend?" If so, don't request me... it's the same principle as requesting someone without any introduction.

Music:

In no particular order: 36 Crazyfists, Slipknot, Nonpoint, (old) Metallica, Smile Empty Soul, Soundgarden, Primer 55, Bush, Killswitch Engage, Staind, Sevendust, Silverchair, Mindless Self Indulgence, Audioslave, Rage Against The Machine, Korn, heh- Limp Bizkit (I'm sure I'll get the 3rd degree for that, but I wub them), Tool, A Perfect Circle, Institute, 10 Years, Lamb of God, Nothingface, Hell Within, Revelation Theory, and so on and so forth... Check my friends list

Movies:

All of which I can relate to (if you've seen them, you'll understand): Fight Club, Mallrats, Good Will Hunting, What Dreams May Come, Castaway, Momento, Boondock Saints, Mystic River, Pan's Labyrinth, the Neverending Story, The Dark Crystal (fizgig/fizzgigger, get it?), etc...

Television:

Law and Order(SVU), Family Guy, Dexter, which I've come to find has all the things in a show I like (Blood/guts/gore, sex, violence, and mystery)... and ------------------------------------------------------------ ---------------------------- Sex in the City... {{Miranda: Sexy is the thing I try to get them to see me as after I win them over with my personality.}} ------------------------------------------------------------ ---------------------------- {{Miranda: Women don't care. We care about nice arms, great eyes, a big dick... I've never once heard a woman say: "He had such a big full scrotum." }} ------------------------------------------------------------ ---------------------------- {{Carrie: The fact is, sometimes it's really hard to walk in a single woman's shoes. That's why we need really special ones now and then to make the walk a little more fun.}} ------------------------------------------------------------ ---------------------------- {{Carrie: Later that day I got to thinking about relationships. There are those that open you up to something new and exotic, those that are old and familiar, those that bring up lots of questions, those that bring you somewhere unexpected, those that bring you far from where you started, and those that bring you back. But the most exciting, challenging and significant relationship of all is the one you have with yourself. And if you can find someone to love the you, you love, well, that's just fabulous.}}

Books:

Textbooks for school... Beyond that I don't like reading, unless I'm trying to sleep. I think it is a total waste of time, something I never have. I think the most reading I do is reading the ticket to a concert I plan to go to, just to make sure... ah, yes, and the sign above the restroom where there's a picture of a lady wearing a dress, just because any room with urinals in it... reeks.

Heroes:

My older brother is by far, my biggest hero, he's 11 years older than me, so he has, over the years, taught me everything useful I've ever needed to know. And he's the only person who gives it to me straight, he doesn't sugar-coat anything. If I'm ever having trouble, he's the person I can tell anything to, and I can count on him to be objective, and honest with whatever he tells me. Now, don't get me wrong, he's IS a boy, and therefore is NOT perfect, and so we have our problems, but I've practically been his "kid" his entire life, and he's been my biggest influence. I owe a lot to him. :o)
