Growing up I listened to a lot of 70’s disco & funk. James Brown, The Average White Band, Parliament, Earth Wind & Fire. And as a teenager in the 90’s I somehow felt a connection to the only dance/club music available to me, i.e. Technotronic, 2Unlimited, etc. It wasn’t until late in high school (1998-1999) that I started going to parties where I discovered techno & house. Finally I had found the missing link. I always knew I wanted to be involved with music somehow, but until raving with my friends; I didn’t know how I fit in. I immediately fell in love with house music, dancing, PLUR, & the entire party scene.
Like a lot of DJs my age; my passion grew out of my party days. Going to raves I knew that someday I wanted to be the DJ that everyone danced to & admired. Fueled by friends who shared my same infatuation; I bought my first pair of turntables in 2000 & have been spinning ever since. My first sets consisted entirely of funky, filtered, disco laden beats reminiscent of my early heroes; Mark Almaria, Charles Feelgood, DJ Dan, & Bad Boy Bill. Today I still spin on the funky side but have retreated to the underground. I have altered & evolved my musical selection just as house music is continually doing. Inspired by the chunky, quirky beats of house music legends Derrick Carter & DJ Sneak; my sets today primarily consist of the funky, jazzy, techy variety, but I’ve been known to run the gamut from tribal & disco to hard tech & club.
Never one to rest on my laurels, my fast paced mixing style coupled along with my flawless programming skills never allow a dull moment on the dance floor. I have spun at numerous parties and clubs throughout the state & would enjoy taking my mixes to different audiences & higher levels.
