Community Aids Assistance Project (CAAP) is a non-profit Northeast Iowa community group commited to those living with HIV and AIDS in our community and to AIDS prevention educational programming.
All money raised remains in the Northeast Iowa community. Agencies benefitting from CAAP fund raising include: Cedar AIDS Support System (CASS), Cedar Valley Hospice, American Red Cross (local AIDS related programs), and HIV Prevention Educational Programming through the Black Hawk County Health Department and the UNI Health Department.
The majority of funds go to individual assistance for persons living with HIV and AIDS to help with medication, food, housing, and "Quality of Life" needs. We help out when people can't get funding from other organizations, whether because of funding or not in their guidelines.
CAAP is governed by a Board of Directors, consisting of seven members, who volunteer their time to raise money for this organization. The Board meets monthly to review applications from clients and maintains strict confidentiality.
