About Me

stand close enough to the light to just be in it...?G Brown, Smoke, 4Double, The Movement...
Who writes the songs that makes the WHOLE world sing? Who writes the songs about the REALEST things? Who make the beats that gets your neck stuck in a move? If not me than who???I've been singing and loving music all my life and over the past few years, there's been a calling to pursue it. It wasn't till recent that I started putting more into it. Getting more out of it. Its like the more I do, the more I do. And the more I do, the more I learn that I don’t know jack. Still I get out a pot, place it on the stove, fill it with sound ingredients, and I let it stew. Smell the aroma. It’s simmering right now with a steady, consistent slow cook. Come get a taste of it.I started writing songs and trying my hand at production about 4 or 5 years ago. What got me started, I sung a couple of hooks for a few people that I know. The second joint that I did was in this dudes basement. This is at that time when EVERYBODY had to have a TRITON… LOL.So we’re in dude's basement, Shai (R.I.P.) is building this track. He has the Triton hooked into a Roland workstation. Me and these other two kats step outside for a “smoke” break. We outside getting mellow when all of sudden I started hearing what he was making and it's sounding like some fiyah!!!I go back in and I immediately started to bobbing my head. The next thing you know I’m front of the MIC singing: “You don’t know. What it took to get here? Why we do it this way? Always keep things straight…” Nothing major, but it's was organic… Music spoke to the words in my head and came out the mouth. It wasn’t the greatest of singing, but it was the greatest of feeling that I had. I’ve always FELT music, but this was like on another level with it. To feel it in its parts, before the parts are created. Deep ain’t it??? To truly create something is a life giving thing. Be it a child, an invention, or music it’s all making babies. Ask any song writer, software developer, or iPhone maker they're all just making babies yo...Everybody who heard that joint loved it. That would probably explain why my copy of it came up missing. One the greatest moments i've felt thus far in regards to something i've done was having a girl, whom I met by chance tell me that was her favorite song, beacause of the hook. I felt like an artist for a minute.Man I love music to the death. I honestly feel I’d die a slow, lonely death without it in my life. My ears may very well be the greatest gift God ever gave PERIOD!!!
Outside of music I’m laid back. I’m finding that the older I get the taste for certain things diminish. One does have to grow up sooner or later. I’m some what of a computer geek too (you aught to see the one I built run). What am I looking for out music? I don't really know at this point. All I know is that I can do a whole of things as far as music is concerned, equally as well. I've got two kids that inspire me to take this music serious. At this point it’s not even a matter of "am I good enough", it's more "it don't matter if you don't put it out there". I've got to do something with it...If there's no time like the present, why not do it now.holla...
