:::His name is Brett Hansen... He lives in Brisbane, Australia. At the age of 29, he is a cartoonist, an animator and a musician in 2 bands (Headkase & Silent Partners). Apart from art and music, Brett is also very good at getting himself into embarrassing situations, making all the wrong decisions, being confused/mislead/misunderstood by females, and he has the uncanny ability to magnetically attract 'dumb luck'. On Monday the 28th of April, 2008, Brett and his girlfriend of two years, Jen, got engaged under the stars on the bridge of the Pacific Sun cruise liner, in the middle of the sea, somewhere between Fiji and Vanuatu.
A cartoonist by trade, Brett draws cartoon illustrations for technical and general print media. Some of his clients have included Education Queensland, Lifeline, Leukaemia Foundation, Commerce Queensland and 4zZz radio station.
Brett's formal studies in fine art, animation and film & TV, gained him the following qualifications - Diploma of Visual Arts: Animation; Diploma of Freelance Cartooning & Illustration; Advanced Certificate in Multi-Disciplinary Arts, Design & Technology (Fine Art & Illustration); Certificate III in Animation; Certificate III in Film & Television.
He plans to produce more short animated films to enter into festivals. In the meantime, www.bretthansen.com features Brett's student films to download, as well as samples of his cartoon and art work. His animated student films, "Blind Man's Rough" (1998) and "Weasel Boy in: Shop Goes the Weasel" (2000) can also be found on YouTube.
In 1997, while in the USA, Brett had the pleasure of meeting and discussing animation techniques with fellow animators in Hollywood studios Klasky-Csupo (Rugrats, Duckman, The Simpsons 87-92) and Film Roman (The Simpsons 92-current, Family Guy, King of the Hill).
Since early beginnings studying classical piano from the age of 3, Brett now performs keyboard in 2 bands:

A qualified journalist and office worker, Jen continues to be Brett's inspiration and the most loving and caring person he's ever met. They're both die-hard Muppet fans, and also share their love of music, cartoons, comedy and pop-culture.
Other fun facts about Brett:
- Was scratch DJ/turntablist and keyboard player in a jazz-funk band called BORIS.
- Was a bongo player in an unnamed percussion group many years ago. Today he occasionally busks with a djembe, and played percussion at "Moonfest" as often as possible until it's recent end.
