All things and then nothing:

Quick rave about rainfall in oz over the last 75yrs! See map below.
If 0 = average rainfall
Then 0 = above average
Note for most of the land the rainfall has been ABOVE average!
The only area's with below average and falling are the mainly inhabited areas, coincidence?
I think not!
I believe the fall in rainfall in the cities is due to the high amounts of energy we radiate into the sky from such sources as millions of roofs reflecting heat (grow native grass on your roof top now!)and the thousands of square km of road surfaces radiating heat and then there is the energy radiated up from machinery and from air contaminants we release by the billions of tons, and also the loss of native vegetaion and planting stupid water guzzling european plants and grasses!!.
The effect is to “dry up” the sky around us which in turn increases rainfall in surrounding areas!
Weird? I don’t think so!

And now they want to send farmers North to farm the tropics where the water is!
Horror!!
We can NOT let this happen!
We can not let the farmers get up there with their Environmentally Murdering ways!
Can we not LEARN!!
Raping the land of vegetation, tiling the soil til it blows away and poisoning the ground and all that grows and lives in and on it with cadmium enriched super-phosphates has got us into the mess we are in on the land!
Fix what is wrong is the answer not go and bugga up and exploit what’s still good!

When I was 20 I worked on the land on Rod Herde's farm in SA. (Eyre Peninsula)
He had planted native shrubs and trees on the borders of all his paddocks
We sat on a hill and watched a rain cloud drift across a valley.
Rod said “When that cloud crosses over on to my paddock it will rain, when it has crossed my paddock the rain will stop”
I believed him not. We sat. We watched.
The cloud moved over his paddock and it rained and when it had passed to the next owners paddock the rain stopped.
I was amazed, “But how?” I asked
“Simple” he said “The vegetation boundary breaks the heat and causes air movement that prompts the rain and the cooling prevents rain evaporating before it hits the ground, soon as it is passed my land the heat from the vegetation less paddocks dries the cloud up again”
This is a true story; so do you need water on your land?
Plant native vegetation on your boundaries!

The solutions are often simple but inconvenient.
