In no particular order - walking, reading, going to the gym, seeing friends, theatre, travel, music, tv, nature, people and what makes them tick, collecting information, computers (but not the technical stuff) and other stuff too.
New friends. People who are a little quirky interest me but not in a pretentiously quirky way. I also like everyday people as no two people are the same and we all have something interesting about us and enjoy the chance to share it sometimes.
I'm not really a fussy person where music is concerned. Modern stuff I like includes The Killers, The White Strips, Magic Numbers and The Kooks - however whilst this may make me appear hip and trendy I'm really not!
I'll just go with a list of films which had an impact on me - "Dead Poets Society", American Beauty, Titanic, Hamlet (the Kenneth Brannagh one),"Oscar Wilde" starring Stephen Fry, Pirates of the Carribean (okay I admit it does have something to do with Jonny Depp), The Incredibles (I don't do cartoons but this was quite fun).
Depending on mood - Reality TV is my worst vice, I try not to get sucked in but it soooo hard.
I love "Jane Eyre" by Charlotte Bronte, its been one of my favourite books since I read it when I was 14 or something. Alice Munro, Kate Atkinson and Margaret Atwood are three of my favourite authors - however I feel restricted for even having to shortlist them as there are so many I love. This year I have particularly enjoyed "Lighthousekeeping" by Jeanette Winterson, "Year of Wonders" by Geraldine Brooks, "The Country Girls Trilogy" by Edna O'Brien, "The No 1 Ladies Detective" series by Alexander McCall Smith. Reading is my passion and probably my favourite pastime.
People who through strengh of character (and perhaps a little luck) achieve great things - eg Ffona Campbell who walked round the world before she was something like 26
