Elder Derrick ShephardWas born and raised in Chicago, IL. Married to the former Twyla Tyler and they have 3 children, Tiara, Treveyan and Alexus.Over the course of his life, Elder Shephard has faithfully served as an Armor Bearer to Bishop Claude Tears, as a choir member, as assistant coordinator of Associate Ministers, as Director of Youth/Young Adult Ministry and as an Associate Minister of First Corinthians Church in Chicago,IL. For a brief period, he served as the Assistant and Youth Pastor at Revelation Baptist Church in Detroit, MI as well as a bible study and Sunday School Teacher. Also during this time he was a member of the Interdenominational Evangelical Churches and was selected to be the Director of the Youth Department of the State of Michigan from June 1999 until June 2000.Elder Shephard is the founder of Prayer & Praise Evangelistic Church, which is a ministry that is based on bible believing, faith receiving people who love the Lord.
It is his vision that PPEC would bring restoration and revival to God's people through the aid of God's word, His Holy Spirit and prayer; to elevate God's people mentally, physically and spiritually so that we can truly obtain the blessings that God has for all those who walk in His holy way. It is the Mission of PPEC that through the teaching and preaching of God's word, we hope to equip God's people for a positive change in their lives and show them the necessity for demonstrating Christ-likeness in their daily walk and work. Lastly, it is the Purpose of PPEC to reach the lost for the holistic purpose of evangelizing, educating and empowering people for service to God, so that they may live a prosperous life.Elder Shephard is a member of Prayer & Faith Outreach Ministries under the leadership of Presbyter William Hudson,III.The scripture that Elder Shephard founded the church on is Psalm 107:18-22 & 32.Prayer & Praise Motto is " A Church Birthed In Prayer; Buited on Praise"
