About Me

I'm a chocaholic, I rarely sleep. My husband give me Indian names like KNOW NO GEOGRAPHY and SLEEPS WITH REMOTES. I have two HUGE dogs (Great Pyrenees) and two new kittens a Lynx Point Siamese and a Bengal.I write scary books for young people. SHATTERING GLASS about a group of decent boys that kill another boy with baseball bats. Not your mother's Nancy Drew type book. DEAD GIRL'S DON"T WRITE LETTERS is a head game about . . .well, girl that isn't who she seems. PLAYING IN TRAFFIC is about a girl using sex as bait to get a shy young man to do something horrible. My new book is out now and it's my favorite so far. WHAT HAPPENED TO CASS MCBRIDE is about a girl that gets kidnapped and buried alive--and then it really gets interesting.Love to write. Love to read. Have an opinion about anything and everything. My biggest hot button is trying young people as adults. Hello, if they aren't adults for anything else, why can we throw them in prison as adults?Myspace BackgroundsMy website is www.gailgiles.com and I blog at http://www.livejournal.com/~notjazz/

My Interests

Writing, reading, watercolor, movies, stage, animals. I love to cook. And eat what I cook. And I'll admit it, I love television. Trash and treasure. Love it all. Tai Chi.

I'd like to meet:

Well now, I think George Clooney should want to meet me. He needs a smart woman to be his friend. I like to meet Bush and teach him some vocabulary and see if I could knock a little sense into his hard head. I wish I could have met Hemingway, Fiitzgerald and Jack London. I'd like to meet the Dali Llama. I'd like to meet Angelia Jolie. Seriously. I think she used to be a full on mess but has gotten her act together. I'd like to talk to her in person and see if I'm right.Writers, artists, bring 'em all on.

Music:

Wow, nothing the average teen would like. Jimmy Buffett puts me in a good mood. I like that new Sting stuff that he does on the lute--although I think he shouldn't have sung all of it. I still like all the 60's stuff. What don't I like is easier: Country, disco, rap and , you know polka. Does anyone like that?

Movies:

Godfather 1 and 2. Perfect movies. I love the whole Mafia thing. Goodfellas. ANything with Leonardo DiCaprio because he brings something new to his character. Same for Edward Norton and Ryan Gosling. I'm not a big fan of action flicks with no plot and sci fi movies with a lot of flashing lights. I loved The Sixth Sense but Shamalyan has stunk since then.

Television:

Veronica Mars. The old Dawson Creek. Lost. How I miss Buffy and Angel. Right now I like Justice, Nine, Jericho and Criminal Minds. Used to love Homicide. Friends was a classic. Frazier until it ran out of steam. Ali G. is amusing until he goes too far.

Books:

Anything by Art Slade. Libba Bray's triology is terrif. Speak is a classic. My favorite book is still THE LORD OF THE FLIES. And I'm a big Hemingway fan. Mary Pearson's A ROOM ON LORELEI STREET has stayed with me since I read it a couple of years ago. There's so much that's good out there I feel like I'm slighting someone. I really like suspense, but I like a lot of other things too. I'm not big on fantasy but theres some that I've gone crazy over. Phillip Pullman's stuff especially.

Heroes:

My husband and my son.
