Even though he's loved music for as long as he can remember, he first started listening to and loving hip-hop in the late 80's. In 1992, he made a trip to NYC and he was blown away by the powerful music and club scenes there. The experience inspired him to begin his career as a professional DJ soon after in 1993.
DJ KANGO has spun at high profile events and exclusive clubs in Tokyo like Eros, Cave, FireCrackker, Gold, JungleBase, Harlem, Yellow, Nuts, Ageha, Core,Room, Womb, R Hall, to name just a few.
He has also been hitting the Japanese airwaves through such venues as J-Wave "Soul Train", Inter FM "Club Harlem" Shibuya FM, NTV "Suger Hill Street" and so on.
He expertly blends many genres of music, including Hip Hop, R&B, Reggae, Soul, Funk, 80's, Rock, Electro, House, B-More, Baile Funk, Techno into his extraordinarily popular sets. In so doing, he has earned himself a sterling country-wide reputation, which has him spinning now all over Japan.
Currently DJ KANGO is the resident DJ for the weekly monster party RED ZONE @ Harlem every Tuesday.
