Jason Catapilla, transform and roll out!

What? Of course I'm a rock star.

About Me

I enjoy many things, but I love music. I am passionate about it and it is a very important part of my life. When it comes to music knowledge and history, I am a sponge. I like all kinds of music and I will listen to almost anything, but the songs that I grew up with, pop music from the mid '80s to early '90s, have a special place in my heart. I do not consider myself to be a musician, but I am learning all about how music is made and produced. I might not have talent, but I think I know it when I hear it. I feel that music allows me to best connect with people; there is nothing better than meeting and being with those who care as much about music as I do. I want to help bands, bring them and music fans together, and expose people to interesting, mind-expanding music. If they happen to share more of my interests, that's even better.
I know many different area bands and you can check them out, as well as my pictures, lyrics and other things on my website The Catapilla Project .
My pictures are now on that wonderful sharing site known as Flickr . Drop by, won't you?
Fan of the Transformers? Then check out The Transformers Racetrack .

My Interests

technology, photography, Transformers (more than meets the eye!), classic arcade and Nintendo games, Philly and national sports, the '80s, the '90s, SNL, animals, The Three Stooges, martial arts and Asian culture, comedy, history, cars and other large vehicles, doing laundry (yes ladies, I do), figuring out how stuff works, bad impressions of celebrities, making people laugh, karaoke (I treat it as a performance), inventing new dance moves - did I forget to mention music?

I'd like to meet:

People who stand out, defy stereotypes, love music, follow their dreams, want to help others and are true to themselves no matter what others think. I'm sort of picky that way.

Music:

I like a variety of music but I have a soft spot for mid '80s to early '90s pop, R&B and freestyle.

My favorite artists are Genesis, U2, and R.E.M. but I also like: Fine Young Cannibals, Daryl Hall and John Oates, Dave Matthews Band, Paula Abdul, Prince, Seal, Sade, Breathe, Duran Duran, Cutting Crew, Phil Collins, Live, Barenaked Ladies, Beck, Goo Goo Dolls, Stevie B, Simply Red, Robert Palmer, Coldplay, Chicago, Fleetwood Mac, Steely Dan, Queen, Pretenders, The Cars, Foreigner, Journey, Bruce Springsteen, America, Dan Fogelberg, Howard Jones, AC/DC, Stone Temple Pilots, Audioslave, Foo Fighters, Matchbox Twenty, Dido, John Mayer, Duncan Sheik, Stevie Wonder, Janet Jackson, Madonna, Jody Watley, Mariah Carey, Richard Marx, Gloria Estefan, Smokey Robinson and the Miracles, the Supremes and a bunch of Philadelphia-area groups. Check my top friends!

I've heard almost everything, so ask me anything about popular music. I'm always willing to help anyone find out more about their favorite artists and songs.

Movies:

Not a big fan of movies but I do like: the Die Hard films, Bill Murray movies, The Matrix, Commando, Spaceballs, The Fifth Element, Rush Hour 1 and 2, the Terminator series, RoboCop, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Christmas Vacation, Lord Of The Rings, Star Wars, The X-Men films, Spider-Man 2, most James Bond movies

Television:

The new Knight Rider - good enough for the old fans or just crap? We will see very soon...
I like to watch Seinfeld, Saturday Night Live, MythBusters, Trauma: Life In The ER, Dirty Jobs, Cops, Star Trek (original and Next Generation), I Love The '80s/'90s, Best Week Ever, SportsCenter, Power Rangers, The Real World, Real World/Road Rules Challenge, True Life, Pimp My Ride, Behind The Music, Attack Of The Show, X-Play, Late Night with Conan O'Brien, Chapelle's Show, Viva La Bam, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Robot Chicken, Wild 'N Out, Human Giant, Code Monkeys, Californication and American Gladiators.

Classics: A-Team, Knight Rider, Kidd Video, Pole Position, Stunt Dawgs, VR Troopers, Earthworm Jim, Duck Tales, Rescue Rangers, Darkwing Duck, The Tick (cartoon), Animaniacs, Pinky & The Brain, Ren & Stimpy, Nickelodeon game shows

Books:

Born On A Blue Day, Live From New York: An Uncensored History Of Saturday Night Live, The Billboard Book Of Top 40 Hits, the works of David Burns, Catcher In The Rye, Edgar Allen Poe - Complete Tales & Poems

Heroes:

Victor Lucas, Sarah Lane, Tina Fey, Bob Geldof, Babyface, Larry David, other left-handers, personable musicians and artists, the crew of the starship Enterprise, anyone who does what they love, people who give money away
