Tell The Truth and Run..... ©"Keith "MuzikMan" Hannaleck January 21, 2004I cannot think of a better way to spend a cold January afternoon (which happened to be a much needed day off) in the Berkshires than listening to a local artist that warmed my soul and blew me away with incredible vocals and music. Kelly Hagan reached the fruition of many years work in late fall of 2003 with an ambitious project titled "Tell The Truth and Run"…. She is a local talent that found me in cyberspace. We both realized we were right in each other’s backyard after realizing there was 45 minutes between our towns. The Internet is huge but it always comes back to the fact that it is indeed a small world, even in cyberspace.I have to tell you this album caught me by complete surprise, not that it was this good, but how I was so enamored from start to finish with it. I listened three times within the space of 4 hours! Hagan is an excellent vocalist/lyricist/guitar player that will have you hypnotized in matter of seconds as the opening track “Demented” begins. There is so much more that happens after that, it is just awe-inspiring. When I first heard “Go for a Ride” it set my soul afire, wow! This girl sings and plays with a heartfelt passion, not to mention sexy, that is indeed rare and special. Every note and vocalization is literally drenched in emotion, and lord above…do you ever feel it! Moreover, this music defies categorization. There are pieces of this and that, which make up a special recipe that delivers a serious knock out punch that goes straight to your heart. With rock, pop, blues, folk, all with an alternative upbeat slant, Hagan will steal you away for over 40 minutes with absolutely no reprieve. The final kicker is the excellent closing track “Are you Ready?” This track is the highlight of the entire album, simply put; it is an amazing display of six-string virtuoso. This woman has a lot of talent and she uses every bit of it on this CD.I know it’s early in the year but it would not surprise me if this album makes my top ten for the entire year. I have gushed quite a bit about this release, but trust me; it really is that good so make sure you check it out for yourself and tell me if I am wrong?muzikreviews.com

"...Tell the Truth and Run consisting of ten originals the CD captures the conservatory trained Hagan's breadth and love of a groove" Seth Rogovoy Berkshire Eagle

"With the release of Tell the Truth and Run, Kelly explores life's truths with great depth...and gives us a candid insight into her innermost thoughts and feelings...Stand out tracks unclude the lilting ballad, 'The Lucky One' the raw energetic 'I Don't Know', and the provocatively shy 'Dirty Little Secret'... Kelly Hagan will touch you with her own sound; a blend of sweet honesty and hungry passion." Paper Cup Music, NYC
Kelly Hagan is currently working on her second CD due spring 2007.
