About Me

Introducing STATE OF QUO (SOQ), we have been quoted as undoubtedly Britain's most popular tribute to the phenomena that is STATUS QUO.Formed in 1995, the first year was spent in the rehearsal studio putting together a show worthy of their heroes and the band certainly hit the ground running with an immediate impact. After relentless travelling all over the British Isles, a loyal following was starting to appear and word spread like wildfire throughout the internet. The very successful 'State Of Quo @ The Limelight' cd has been acclaimed by Quo fans worldwide as one for their collection and venues are having to dust off their 'Sold Out' signs. STATE OF QUO are capable of a four-hour set, such is the vast back-catalogue they have to work with, although the band mainly concentrate on the more successful and rockier era of the 70s and early 80s.A full back-line of Marshall amplification and Telecaster guitars give that authentic sound that is instantly recognisable as the sound of the greatest boogie band on earth.Highlights of the last 11 years have been gigs such as the Isle of Man TT races for five years running, at top venues like The Villa Marina and Summerland, several trips abroad and a theatre tour.In 1997, the band were given the ultimate endorsement when they hooked up with none other than JOHN COGHLAN, the original Status Quo drummer for twenty years with Status Quo. A gig in Aberdeen was supposed to be a one-off but 'JOHN COGHLAN'S QUO' still perform up to the present day in various venues nationally. So all in all, if it's a night of good old-fashioned, heads down, no-nonsense mindless boogie you're after, STATE OF QUO will take you to that Boogie Wonderland. All band members are fanatical about Status Quo having seen the lads in concert over 400 times between them.State Of Quo also have their own website: www.stateofquo.com
