Smiledriver - tribute to Status Quo

About Me

The Quo Must Go On" geladen. Und jetzt ihre neueste Scheibe "The Quo Must Go On" im Tour-Gepäck. Bis bald in Eurer Stadt!
From outside the A W S in the Wilhelmsruher Damm came the sound of In the Army now on opening the door the hard rock sound of Brit-Rock legend Status Quo hit me. The club was packed with dancing people but on stage was not Status Quo but Smiledriver Berlins best Status Quo cover band. On this December evening the band showcased their 1st CD THE QUO MUST GO ON The four guys in the band were having fun and playing in Overdrive. The raw sound of Guitars from Rolf Rettberg & Ginger Taylor the thumping bass from Thomas Seeger and the high energy drums of the animal Ralph Weber brought the authentic Quo sound. Ginger’s voice sometimes sounds almost the same as that of Rick Parfitt or Francis Rossi. Not surprising as he also comes from London.Since 2004 the band has been touring the clubs & fests of Berlin & Germany with the same motto as Status Quo Rockin all over the World. They do it the same way as the band that has Rocked the World for 40yrs. All the guys in the band are well known in Berlin and between themselves have made more then 30 records & CDs with other Stars. (The list is to long mention ) but this is the 1st together and I don’t think it will be the last.See you soon!
