When I was little I wanted to BE her), Thomas Schumacher, Peaches, Kate Bush and being a Melbourne girl, a decade of dance music (platform for the evolution from techno-bunny to club-star-honey), local superstar DJ's, the parties that changed things, the clubs that formed the trance-ient local dancing community and whoever wrote 'The Bus Stop'... I have always been one for buying singles so there'd be a bunch of songs as opposed to artists that I could list as influences too... but not now. The biggest influence on my music were all just moments really. Like the first time I ever saw Madonna. I was dancing around the lounge room in my jammy's to Video Hits one Saturday morning. A 'Hit Prediction' new vid came up and there she was looking ever so vulnerable and desperate on her bare knee's in the middle of a road singing 'I'm Burning Up' (my favorite)... I stopped dancing...
I too fell to my knee's... watched.... and I just knew I had seen something really big... more influences to be remembered and honored I'm sure...
Sounds Like: Electro tech pop house - I don't know, I've been compared to many artists and I like all of them. Some of them are listed in my influences, 'Miss Kitten but sweeter and softer', really depends on the track. My vocals on my album 'Disco Angel' float around a lot of styles and characters... the music floats around all the dance music I've ever liked... if anyone has any suggestions, let me know, I'd love to know what you think I sound like.
