Baby 8

We hate each other, but we hate you more

About Me

The songs are short, sharp and bristle with urgency and intelligence... flame-grilled by guitars, a war on cliche... here a serrated edge, there a barbed wire hook... no nonsense noise-bursts. This is Baby 8.
Thanks to outfits like Blondie, Sonic Youth, Wire, Television and glam-era Roxy Music, Baby 8 are suitably inspired. Now and then they might even strap an afterburner to an innocent Geek Rock anthem from the teen movie 80s just to blast out a cracking tune crying for renewed attention.
Baby 8 released a debut CD single in December 2004 through Audrey Records, the rapidly expanding Melbourne label operated by Anna Burley from the Killjoys. The single, "I Want to Spend" is another outstanding prime cut courtesy of Lindsay Gravina at Birdland Studios. The video for the single is a stunner too - receiving great airplay on Rage last year.
Now we know you're all DYING to play with us, but we are takin a little time out at the mo to write some new tunes and spend a little time in the studio, Gonna get those creative juices flowing! We'll be back on the gigging circuit mid year with a new album to showcase. Can't wait!
