Apollo 14

IT'S THE NEW AND IMPROVED APOLLO 14!

About Me

Las Vegas instro-surf band. Formed in 1995, broke up around 1999/2000, soon to be reuniting to take over the world! Sometime in 1995, Ben, Eric, were finishing up the last shows as Cebollas De Satanas with Eric's cousin, Andre. The plan was already set to start an instrumental surf-style band. Scott was brought in to play bass so Ben could play all leads, as Eric is incapable of playing anything resembling a lead. After about three months of practices and a couple of bar gigs, the band landed the opening slot for The Reverend Horton Heat at the Huntridge Theater in Las Vegas. Unfortunately, this would be the largest crowd they would ever play for. A few months later, Andre was relieved of his services as drummer due to his intimate relationship with a small asian boy. So, they cooked him and ate him. Gerry "Turbo" Proctor volunteered to sit in on drums and then asked to be kept on permanently. A lot of shows were played over the next couple of years, some good, some not so good, but all fun. Opening for the likes of Man Or Astro-Man?(Project Alpha), The Bomboras and the Quadrajets led to the even more high profile gigs playing with The Real Creeps, Monster Zero, The Latest Flames, and most importantly, The Vermin. You might ask how one band could secure so many gigs with legendary Vegas punks, The Vermin. Well, the answer is simple, Gerry is their drummer too. Not to mention that Dirk and Ruckus couldn't pass up the chance to bust the collective balls of Apollo 14. The time came one day when Scott announced he was moving to Seattle so he could be closer to the final resting place of Kurt Cobain. The rest of the band tried, but couldn't find an albino/Puerto Rican Jehovah's Witness with a fetish for 85lb girls, percocets, and festering open sores. Who knew it would be that hard. Since his release from a mental health facility in Philadelphia, Scott "worked" his way back to town and the band has decided to reform. Oh what a glorious day, shout it out to the heavens, there is new reason to take one more breath. The band plans to start rehearsing soon and should be clearing bars across Las Vegas after the first of the year. Thanks for looking and we hope to see you soon, we'll be at the bar!!!

Well, so as it stands, Gerry "Turbo" Proctor will be unable to fulfill his drumming duties to Apollo 14. Yes, this does put a small damper on the impending return to the stage, but... it does not put ...

T-T-T-Too Much Time On My Hands!!

So, if a band sucks in an empty bar, do they really suck at all? I think not, and here's why: If the bar is empty, then the supposed gig is nothing more than a band practice with one very important an...

The Horror of Waxing

Just a little update. Ben is recovering nicely from his waxing "incident/assault". Not sure what I can call it as it is now a legal matter.  Thanks to all who offered to donate blood. He and...
