Jon- Born and raised just outside Chicago. Played piano when I was young, and drums through out middle school and high school. I was known only as a drummer untill I performend and instrumental piano piece at the spring extrav. All through High school, i wrote when i was by myself. It was more fulfilling for me then playing drums. I could make melody and really have a place where I felt comfortable to speak my mind. I have played drums in bands since then, and this will be my first time to front a band. I have great people around me and who play music with me. They have made all this come alive. Its like putting your heart out for everyone to see, and having people uplift and encougarge it. I couldnt have hoped that this would turn out as well as it did. Dave and Paul have put more effort and great imput into this than I would have ever expected. They are the definiton of true friends. Im also extreemly excited about our jack of all trades, David O'gwynn. He has put forth a lot of effort and great ideas with the music. He also lives next door to Dave, in the house I used to live in. Thats why its called "The Southside Community Band." This is still the formation of this project and theres a lot more ahead for each person. Thanks for the support.
David - Yo Yo Yo. I am extremely proud of the work that we have put into this project over the past few weeks. I've been Jon's bass thumpin' wing man for some time now and it's great to see the increase in momentum with his music as well as the newly formed band. It is so awsome that four people with such diverse musical backgrounds can come together to form a collective that feels this true and real. I have yet to play with a group where the music feels as natural as with this one. I don't even feel like we have band practices, as it feels more like we are just hanging out doing what we love...jammin tunes. Nothing ever seems forced, everything we do just flows. Peace, Love, Harmony.....I'm Fannin' Out Bitches!
Paul Brandon - All I can really say is thank God for Aretha Franklin .
