About Me
Venko Poromanski started playing drums at the age of 10 in Germany along with the teachers Klaus Dieter Blahak in Koln and Thomas Schneider in Bonn.
Return to Bulgaria and continuing percussion studies / drumset, vibraphone, xylophone, timpani/ with Boris Dinev, Peter Slavov and prof. Dobri Paliev .
1992 He applied to the State Academy Of Music and was accepted as a student in a Pop and Jazz department with a full scholarship. In the meantime he played in Sofia clubs with Jazz and cover bands.
1995 Venko went to an audition for drummer of the Bulgarian National Radio Big Band. He spend three years there, playing in concerts, studios, recording different styles of music.
1998 graduated a Bachelor of Music - Percussion instruments.
1999 entered in the band of the popular weekly TV show on a National TV. 1999 - Venko played with Mike Stern. October 2001 - He took part in Frank Itt trio during Sofia Music Jam festival.
2004 - Venko Poromanski became a teacher in New Bulgarian University drums and percussion.
2004 - He played with David Garfield and John Pena.
2006 - graduated a Master of Music - Sound Engineering. Since 2000 till now Venko is part of a Funk, Soul band named TE /means "they"/. Recently TE became one of the most successful Pop bands in Bulgaria. During these years TE released two albums, seven video singles /all of them took lead in the Bulgarian Top Charts/, DVD Concert. Positive media reputation and excellent acknowledgment in musical community are part of their success as well.TE won more than ten awards and nominees such as Best debut, Best Pop Song, Best album, Best Band, Best Live Performance etc.Venko took a part in big and important musical events in Bulgaria supporting artists as Blues Brothers, Simply Red, Incognito, Earth Wind & Fire, Simple Minds, participation in many festivals as Sofia Music Jam, Apollonia, Sofia Jazz Peak, Coca-Cola Sound Wave and others. As a member of a band "TE" did more than ten national tours with the brands M-TEL, Globul, Stella Artois, Kamenitza, Tuborg, Coca-Cola, Jim Beam and others. Venko Poromanski endorses YAMAHA drums, PAISTE cymbals and Valeto drumsticks.
