About Me

(Thanks for the Michael bobblehead pic, Bobblehead Gary!!!)

I'd like to dedicate the following photo to a friend I had for years. He was, like, BFF #2 in my book. Unfortunately, we're no longer friends, and it makes me sad.

Hahahahaha! I'm serious, though. I do.

Michael Scott (Steve Carell), regional manager of the Dunder Mifflin Scranton Branch

"As far as I can tell, I'm the best looking person here. There's a basic principle in real estate that you should never be the best-looking person in the development. It's just historic common sense because if you are, then you have no place to go but to go down." --Michael Scott

Watch Michael dance!

Michael Scott on workplace awards:

"An employee will go home and he'll tell his neighbor, 'Hey, did you get an award?' And the neighbor will say, 'No man, I mean I slave all day and nobody notices me.' Next thing you know, Employee smells something terrible coming from the neighbors house. Neighbor's hanged himself... due to lack of recognition."

Michael Scott on information gathering {listen up, journalists :P }:

"Wikipedia is the best thing ever. Anybody in the world can write anything they want about any subject. So, you know you are getting the best possible information."

MY FAVORITE MEN OF THE OFFICE(These icons are all over the internet, and I have no idea who made them, so I credit the world. That should cover whoever created them.)

Me with Jeff Gordon!!! ... the cardboard version. :O

This is probably the BEST Office fan vid I have ever seen! Brilliant! Watch it!

As you can tell by various pictures and statements on this page, I'm full of love. Joking.

I've spent 10 years (many of which were crazy stressful) as a newspaper reporter. About 8 years into the job, this is how I began to feel:
Sooooo, I decided to give up the job and move back to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton area to focus on earning a Master of Arts degree in theology from Franciscan University of Steubenville's distance graduate program. I now have a Catholic job. I love being Catholic and hope to finish the rest of my career serving the Church. I also like rooting for NOTRE DAME, Jeff Gordon (the best NASCAR has ever seen), the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Pioneers and the 49ers.

"Just Say No" to relativism. It's bad for the soul. That's coming from someone who, unfortunately, has been there, but it's a lifestyle to which I'll never return. Sadly, relativism runs rampant today.

So, what's relativism? Pope Benedict XVI explains it: "We are moving toward a dictatorship of relativism which does not recognize anything as for certain and which has as its highest goal one's own ego and one's own desires."

Why I'm Catholic

APOSTLES' CREED

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ His only Son our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried. He descended to the dead. On the third day He rose again and sitteth at the right hand of the Father, From thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church , the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen

I dislike: Attempts to water down this great Catholic faith. There are plenty of so-called Catholics pretty much everywhere, including in Congress, who try to do this. Hint, hint Mrs. House Speaker. I also dislike MTV, Michigan, USC, WVU, and the show Ugly Betty.

JEFF GORDON! #24

Notre Dame Our Mother (Alma Mater)

Notre Dame, Our Mother, tender strong and true.

Proudly in the heavens, gleams thy gold and blue.

Glory’s Mantle cloaks thee, golden is thy fame.

And our hearts forever, praise thee, Notre Dame

And our hearts forever, LOVE THEE, NOTRE DAME.

"For God did not call us to impurity but to holiness. Therefore, whoever disregards this, disregards not a human being but God, who (also) gives his holy Spirit to you." (1 Thessalonians 4,7-8)

I'd like to meet:

Pope Benedict XVI

Thank God for the Pope!

Music:

Catholic hymns, Catholic rock and hip-hop (as long as they're not played during Mass), Gregorian chant, and a mix of rock and country music. I also like Skillet, the hometown band - Breaking Benjamin, Relient K, MercyMe, Bing Crosby, Michael Buble, KISS, R.E.M. (the music, not the politics), U2, hair bands, etc.

Thank you, Jesus.

Movies:

Rudy, Therese, The Court Jester, Star Wars, Indiana Jones trilogy, Napoleon Dynamite, Exorcism of Emily Rose, I Confess (Hitchcock), V for Vendetta, Slither, Bing Crosby movies ... plenty of others.

Television:

Anything on EWTN, Father Corapi, The Office, the show 24, watching Notre Dame football/basketball and NASCAR, Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Leave it to Beaver, The Lone Ranger

"It’s even more depressing because the character in question is played by my former associate, Steve Carell. I am dissapointed in you, Steve! ... He has really turned his back on the news. You used to be a good reporter.” -- Stephen Colbert, The Colbert Report

Ladies and gentlemen, Mr. Dwight Schrute:

Books:

The Perfect Joy of St. Francis, Deus Caritas Est (God is Love) encyclical by Pope Bendict XVI, The Screwtape Letters by C.S. Lewis, The Confessions of St. Augustine ... several others. I don't read much fiction. Most of it, especially these days, I find to be crap on paper. But, I do like Shakespeare. I'm also a big fan of Jonathan Swift and Alexander Pope.

Heroes:

Jesus, the saints
