...I had a dream about this, all of this...

About Me

By Pete McLear for CyberMojoHannibal De Mond, not long ago, came to this planet with his favourite android 'Mechanical Michelle' to buy a summer home. Coming from Titus, an icy cold moon with little to do but watch reruns of 50's television, he found the climate on earth so hospitable he decided to make it his permanent residence. He then discovered the joys of women, booze and drugs. In his overindulgence, the money soon ran out. And unlike Titus where one could make a living by selling land on neighbouring asteroids, he had no saleable skills to bring to our planet. This factor, and many others including the kidnapping and subsequent loss of his favourite android to a hippy colony (Mechanical Michelle had succumb to the condition known as Stockholm Syndrome), he fell into a deep dark hole.Realising his despair, he wrote a song. He hoped the song would bring her back to him. It did not. However, those who were lucky enough to hear it started to dance. In anger, he wrote another song; hoping to drive off these humans in their rhythmic madness. The humans, however, did not. Infact, with every new song Hannibal produced humans became increasingly despondent with other mass produced music. Then one night, without Hannibal's prompting, hordes and hordes of despondent listeners took up torches and pitchforks and marched into the head offices of all the major labels. That night was February 29, 1976. Those of us how lived through that day it can remember how this event literally 'changed the world over night.' This day, as we all know, has become an international holiday, named 'The Rising of the Android Army.' In many ways, despite the pain and suffering it had caused him, that day also marks the beginning of Hannibal De Mond's musical career.30 years later, he's still bangin' out a trunk'o'android funk.
