About Me

..This profile was edited with SpaceCodes.com - Profile Editor MySpace HELP Profile Help!Dutch artist born in Vught, Holland, 1967. Uses a handfull of monickers producing Detroit techno, electro, house and ambient. Recorded for R&S Records, Outrage Recordings, Apollo, Djax-Up-Beats, See Saw, ESP and Klang Elektronik to name just a few. Since 1996 he is also releasing music on his own label Signum Recordings. (and it's two sublabels Passiflora and Glam) Van der Vleuten switches without any effort from ambient to (experimental) techno, over jazzy house to vocal dance. He's a schooled musician (drums, piano and bass) and played in several new wave/industrial bands. The only recordings that where releases from his New Wave / Industrial period are on cassette, using the alias The Noise Architect. Maarten's musical vision knows no limits: working in his own studio, he's constantly experimenting and exploring all aspects of danceable music, looking for innovation and bringing new angles to it. Due to his experimental vision towards his music, Van Der Vleuten's productions are not mainstream material. As a result of that he has gained more credits from within the "underground" scene. Or as the database of The Dutch Rock And Pop Institute writes; "...one of the pioneers of the dutch dance scene..." Call him an eclectic, and you're absolutely right. Label his music as neo-romantic, and you're close to an accurate definition.2002 - 2007 After his limited edition album "Laiad" (by Flux), almost three years of silence followed (2003 - 2005). Then at the end of 2005 remixes by Maarten showed up from one of his favourite 80's New Wave band; Mekanik Kommando. (he was asked for the job by their label ToneFloat). Picking up his producing resulted in the "Kremahitz" ep for Mighty Robot Recordings in 2006 and 2 more albums on his own label Signum recordings with his ambient project In-existence ("...Of Truth Eternal Beauty And Nought" and "De Verkenningen"). During 2006 and 2007 Maarten started working with his huge backcatalogue and made most of his early releases available as MP3 downloads. (i-Tunes, Dance-Tunes and eMusic). At the end of 2007, the In-Existence album "High Intolerance Towards Low Energies" on the label ToneFloat will be released as well as a remix for the Belgium based label Plague records and a 2-track cd that will be part of the book "Kurt's Zimmer Publikation" containing music he wrote for the art-installation "Kurt''s Zimmer".
