MAZEL TOV COCKTAIL.

About Me

We're shape shifters.
"Youngblood features clanging guitars and propulsive drumming, producing danceable two-minute tracks that could become college-radio gold." - Scene Magazine, 5.17.06
What people have said about Plasma for Guns:
"Plasma for Guns lists inside jokes, caffeine, and sarcasm among its main influences. Its twitchy, overanxious post-punk reflects as much, with snaking guitar lines, lots of red-faced shouts, and songs about Danny Glover. A coed trio, the members of Plasma for Guns all swap instruments live, with each taking turns on vox, bass, drums, and guitar. The players gradually work themselves into a sweaty fever, and by song's end, they sound ready to implode in a mess of feedback and broken guitar strings. But the group is careful to maintain a gritty tunefulness through it all, and members never seem to remove their tongues from their cheeks on sardonic kiss-offs like "Katie Holmes' Silent Birth" and "We Put the Fidel in Low-Fidelity." This is what all the smartasses will be dancing to in '07." - Jason Bracelin - SCENE MAGAZINE
"It's a truism that's become a cliché how such a disproportionate number of good bands are incubated in art schools. But usually such bands are diversions that grow to ultimately eclipse or even supplant the members' studies. Not so for recent CIA grad Rachel Hart, who integrated experimental packaging and marketing for her band Plasma For Guns into her BFA thesis last spring. Hart, who moonlights as a member of Bears, formed the band in 2004, with the current lineup of herself on bass and vocals, Andrew Pemner on guitar and Chris Lundgren on drums coalescing in August 2005. Their self-released EP and a split 7-inch with Akron's Goodbye Ohio showcase the usual array of indie-kid influences - Pixies, Mission of Burma, Les Savvy Fav and - all together now - Sonic Youth. But in the concert setting, Pemner's jagged, energetic guitar playing becomes an exciting foil for Hart's new-waver-chick harangues (think Poly Styrene or Claire Grogan, minus the fingernails and the chalkboard), building P4G a well-deserved rep as a solid live act. Look for a new EP in the spring." - RK, TOP 10 BANDS TO LOOK OUT FOR IN '07, CLEVELAND FREE TIMES
"Remember when you picked up those early YYY ep's. Remember when you were blown away by their energy, those angular riffs, and that attitude. So, do I. It's a shame the YYY's don't seem to remember too well. Thankfully, we have Plasma For Guns. This rockin post-punk trio out of Cleveland makes some highly energetic and infectious noise. "Phonetically Yours" is a spastic, caustic, raucous, and loud slab of dance punk great for terrorizing your ears and your neighbor's ears." - irockcleveland.blogspot.com
"Dear Ted: How come today's musical combos have such terrible names? When we were young, you knew that the Kingston Trio was three guys from Kingston. But last week, I saw a review of Plasma for Guns. Can you really trade plasma for guns? If so, how much blood would I have to donate to get an Israeli assault rifle? I'd like to shoot my neighbor. His dog barks a lot. - Gunther in Cuyahoga Falls
Dear Gunther: While I believe it's journalistically irresponsible to shoot one's neighbor, I do empathize. Ted Diadiun has an Italian widow living next door to him. She cooks for her extended family on Sundays. While I have nothing against Italians -- some of them are my best friends -- I do believe it's journalistically irresponsible for her culinary smells to intrude upon Ted Diadiun's house. But instead of shooting her, which would violate my journalistic ethics, I like to set fire to her garage. Ted Diadiun believes this is a fair and balanced response to her cooking. If she wants to keep her garage, she should learn to cook American. It's all about personal responsibility, which is sorely lacking among today's youth and widows. " - SCENE MAGAZINE
