Founded in February 2007, Agustin, Miguel (Lucius) and Javier start the creation of a new band. They went on for a few months without a Singer or Bassist, until Agustin posted an add on MontrealMusicScene.com. He then found Kat and Amine, but unfortunitly Amine has left the band and we now have found a Nick our new bassist.
The name Sygkenis came from Kat's favorite series of books; "The Darkyn Novels" by Lynn Viehl. We suggest you read them!... well Kat suggests you read them!!!

AgustÃn Trechi Sartori
I was born September 11, 1987, in the city of Montevideo (Uruguay). I first started listening to classical music at the age of 5. I went to Austria for a month when I was 6. In that country I fell in love with the music of Mozart. Back in my country, my parents sent me to classical piano lessons. I played the piano for 12 years; I participated in several small concerts, and always passed my exams with the best mark. In 2004 due to an economic crisis in my country, my family moved to Montreal (Canada) and this changed a lot in my personality. It changed the music that I listened to, the way I look, think, etc. As a result of all this, I started to listen to metal, (mostly with a dark and atmospheric sound) and playing guitar. I progressed very fast with the guitar and entered my first band, that didn’t work because of beer. After this, Sygkenis was formed. Now I’m very proud of what this project is becoming. I have a lot of confidence that it’s going in a good direction, and I can’t wait to have our first demo and play live.
Kathleen Sarakinis (Kat)
I was born March 5th 1991, here in Montreal. I have lived here my entire life with my family. I first began playing Guitar at the age of 8 and I still play today. I play Bass, Drums, and Piano aswell but I have only been playing them for about 2 years. I first found out about the Carpal Tunnel Syndrome in my wrist when I was 15, it prevents me from my playing Guitar for long amounts of time, therefore I decided to work on my Voice. I sang in my school choir for a bit, sang Alto, but then I moved up slowly to Saprano 2, and then Saprano 1. I take vocal classes now with my excellent teacher Sherry, to help me progress and control my voice. I had several bands in the past but they always fell through due to lack of commitment in the other members, that is what got me started in solo work, but then I felt as though I wouldn't be able to perform live, so I went on to MontrealMusicScene.com and found Agustin looking for a vocalist. From that one practice we had we seemed to all click well, which made me happy to find commited people who like the same style of music as I do. Also I want to mention I love vampires, that is how we got the name Sygkenis, so read Lynn Viehl's Darkyn Novels!Javier Pelaez Reategui
I was born July 26th, 1985, in Lima (Peru). My friends call me Capetito (long story) I started listening to punk, grunge and rock music when I was 13. I first started playing guitar at the age of 14 and one day a friend showed me how to play the drums and i felt in love with all that new stuff. In 2002 due to an economic crisis in my country, as Agustin, me and my sister moved with my dad to Montreal (Canada) and all my life changed completely because first i left my mom and my grandma in Peru, so it was hard... actually it's still hard, also my personality changed... the way I was used to listening to music was different. So I had new dreams and one of them was to be in a band and why not to be famous one day. I first met Miguel (Lucius) and then Agustin, so we started playing a couple of times until Kat and Amine came to create a band. Then Sygkenis was formed. I think all of us are really proud of it and we are doing things correctly and I can't also wait to jump on the stage to have our first show live. Thanks

Physically born a Sunday, February 21st, LuciuS was raised in Colombia and has gone throughmany changesas days have passed. Commonly called Jesus by certain close friends for being easy going, turning water into wine and the long hair, LuciuS is, however, against all forms of religion and external mind-control. Living now in Montreal, he likes to drink (a lot... too much maybe) whiskey, absinthe, vodka, red wine and beer, whether at a concert, with a friend or alone at home while listening to music. LuciuS has diagnosed himself as a mentally ill misanthrope and having strong chances of becoming worse in a future not too far. A must-know-in-person-to-understand kind of guy...+++
