"Give Me Liberty Or Give Me Death." -Patrick Henry.Make refrence to my photos: I believe that a person is defined by their values and my values are held within the social issues I stand for.
I would like to see old friends and meet new ones!---------------------------"The idea that God is an oversized white male with a flowing beard, who sits in the sky and tallies the fall of every sparrow is ludicrous. But if by 'God,' one means the set of physical laws that govern the universe, then clearly there is such a God. This God is emotionally unsatisfying... it does not make much sense to pray to the law of gravity." -Carl Sagan
I love music!"Music expresses that which cannot be put into words and cannot remain silent†- Victor Hugo
"If you can walk you can dance. If you can talk you can sing." -Zimbabwean proverb
"Without music, life would be an error.†-Friedrich Nietzsche
“Music is the universal language of mankind†-Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
Movies, for me, create a haven in time and space, were my mind has no limit, no expectaion, no rhym or reason."No form of art goes beyond ordinary consciousness as film does, straight to our emotions, deep into the twilight of the soul." -Ingrid Bergman"Every great film should seem new every time you see it." -Roger Ebert"Cinema is the most beautiful fraud in the world." -Jean-Luc Godard
I like watch TV. Often mindless entertainment can be quite helpful."TV is chewing gum for the eyes." -Frank Lloyd Wright"The great thing about television is that if something important happens anywhere in the world, day or night, you can always change the channel." (From 'Taxi')"One of the few good things about modern times: If you die horribly on television, you will not have died in vain. You will have entertained us." -Kurt Vonnegut"All television is educational television. The question is: what is it teaching?" -Nicholas Johnson"Sex on television can't hurt you unless you fall off." -Author Unknown"Television! Teacher, mother, secret lover." ~Homer Simpson"Television is simply automated day-dreaming." -Lee Lovinger
I dont read often enough. However, I dont think you can ever read too often. Moreover, I do have great respect for writers and for all artists. I enjoy being myself through writing and art. The tremendous difficulty required to do this task successfully has astonished me. So, for thoes who do this with some sort of success amaze and inspire me. ------------------------------------------------------------ --My favorite book is 'The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle' by Avi."A vicious captain, a mutinous crew -- and a young girl caught in the middle. Not every thirteen-year-old girl is accused of murder, brought to trial, and found guilty. But I was just such a girl, and my story is worth relating even if it did happen years ago. Be warned, however: If strong ideas and action offend you, read... no more. Find another companion to share your idle hours. For my part I intend to tell the truth as I lived it." -Charlotte Doyle ------------------------------------------------------------ --My most recent reading has been that of Lydia Davis' flash fiction work. One of my favorites is: 'From Below, As A Neighbor' "If I were not me and overheard me from below, as a neighbor, talking to him, I would say to myself how glad I was not to be her, not to be sounding the way she is sounding, with a voice like her voice and an opinion like her opinion. But I cannot hear myself from below, as a neighbor, I cannot be gald I am not her, as I would be if I could hear her. Then again, since I am her, I am not sorry to be here, up above, where I cannot hear her as a neighbor, where I cannot say to myself, as I would have to from below, how glad I am not to be her." ------------------------------------------------------------ - I also just read "Along Came A Spider" By James Patterson. I loved it, mysteries are the excitement I love but never would want in my own life. If you haven't read it I would suggest that you pick it up.
I am not sure if I have any heroes. I am inspired by many things, but heroes, not so much. I dont believe that heroes (past present and future) exist or ever should. Every single person has the ability to be a hero or a villin; every single person has a period in life were they are both good and evil. Moreover, these terms, (like most terms: hero/villin, good/evil, hot/cold, heaven/hell) are relitive and bassed on perspective; one cannot exist without the other. ------------------------------------------------------------ --"Is there reason to the rhyme. Without evil there could be no good so it must be good to be evil sometimes." -Satan (Trey Parker voice from South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut)"Life -- the way it really is -- is a battle not between bad and good but between bad and worse." Joseph Brodsky"When choosing between two evils, I always like to try the one I've never tried before." Mae West"The web of our life is of a mingled yarn, good and ill together." -William Shakespeare
