Eclipse

Long before he considered dance as a career, Chris had followings both in his hometown of Indianapolis as well as in Chicago where he was a local dance celebrity because of his ability to create and emulate the raw forms of hip-hop and street dance. These natural skills gave way to many victories at school and community dance compititions and gave Chris a reputation that led to a scholarship to attend the Columbia College of Dance in Chicago, IL.While in school, Chris quickly gained the respect of his peers and professors. He also caught the attention of many notable artist and performers and his mentors include artist Aten Danner (whose drawings, paintings, and murals have received national acclaim), Gary Abbot of Cleo Parkingson Dance Theater, and Kevin Iega-Jeff, a graduate and freelance professor at New York's famed Julliard. It was Mr. Danner, after witnessing the effect that Chris has on an audience when he performs, who confirmed the spiritual name "Eclipse" (A rare light). It stuck and after moving to Los Angeles in 2000 the name became a household one within the professional dance commuunity.Eclipse's versatile look and tremendous physical agility have made it possible for him to work with such notable choreographers as HiHat, Fatima, Loreanne Gibson, Micheal Rooney, and Rosario And Jamal. In addition, Eclipse has peformed with numerous celebrities and artists including Jay-Z, Stevie Wonder, Ludacris, Lil Kim, Brandy, Mary Mary, Blu Cantrell, and Ashanti. You may even catch him in a few television commercials and print ads for K-Swiss, Pepsi (feat Mariah), Gap, Coca-Cola, Heiniken, Pepsi (feat Beyonce).Trained in Hip-Hop, Ballet, African, and Modern (Horton, Graham and Dunam) dance techniques, Eclipse has recently been making airwaves with his choreography. Best described as soley unique and precisely choreographed, Eclipse has won acclaim among his peers and predecessors for his choreography with Kanye West at the 48th Annual Grammy's in which he assisted HiHat MTV/Emmy/MVP award winning choreographer, his recent job with Busta Rhymes 2006 BET AWARDS as Artistic Director, and his choreography for the hot new comedian Jamie Kennedy's video , "Rolling With Bob Saget."However his recent achievements have ony set the stage for more exciting contributions that this talented performer will make to the dance community and entertainment industry.
