About Me

Welcome to the official MySpace music page for the Tim Kreitz Band!
About Tim Kreitz
Tim Kreitz has been a well-known fixture on the Permian Basin music scene for over 15 years, having fronted popular Texas bands such as The Atomics, Lighthouse, and now Dingo Sanctuary. His latest project, which bears his name, amalgamates all the best elements of his previous and current efforts into the guitar-driven, groove-laden, sonic terra you're now listening to.Tim has worked as a studio/live engineer and/or player for artists and entities such as NoMountain Recording Studio, Ardent Recording, Jalapeno Records, Shake Russell Band, Dana Cooper, Garth Brooks, Eric Johnson, Yellow Room Records, Cat House Blues, Dingo Sanctuary, Pennzoil & Hall/VDS Racing, John Anderson, Steve Wariner, and many, many others commercial and performance clientele.
Now a sought-after producer/art director in music, video, and advertising, Tim stays busier than ever. Creative, prolific, and perfectionistic, Tim's no-compromises reputation is well-deserved and -- for better or worse -- completely indicative of his underlying drives.

Influences:
"You can tell a lot about an artist by not only his original material, but by who he covers. The following songs are my interpretations of artists who I respect highly. Put them in your iPods and enjoy them. I hope I've done them some measure of Justice." - Tim
High Landrons - "This is my favorite Eric Johnson song. In late 1990, as a teenager, I had the honor of being Eric Johnson's monitor engineer during several shows on the Ah Via Musicom tour. Those shows were the catalyst for a major paradigm shift in my life-journey as a guitarist, because they completely changed my concepts of and approach to tone. Besides the complicated wonder of Eric's mind-boggling stage rig, I got to see up close and personal how Eric effected and manipulated his overall tone simply by how he played the guitar itself.I did my best to stay true to Eric's original arrangement and solo melodies, which are absolute genius, while still incorporating my own style and interpretation into this version."
Love or Confusion - "Jimi's music is very important to me -- part of who I am, to be exact. When I was 8 years old, I found my mom's old copy of Electric Ladyland in a stack of vinyl in the hall closet. I took it into my bedroom, put it on my record player, and proceeded to have a musical epiphany. I listened to all four sides, walked into the living room, and told her I wanted a guitar. That Christmas I got one, and have been playing ever since.Love or Confusion is my favorite song on Are You Experienced. Any time I get frustrated with the disposable, generic crap I hear on modern rock radio, I take comfort in the fact that God gave us Jimi's music."
