Sherlock Holmes

my dear Watson, it is simplicity itself.

About Me

My name is Sherlock Holmes and I live at number 221b Baker Street. I am the worlds first and only consulting detective. I do not enjoy the glory of my cases and therefore, in nearly all of them, the praise is set on someone else, usualy Inspector Lestrade at Scotland Yard. I am man of eccentric tastes, whims and fancies. for example, i have often offended my dear Watson with playing my beloved violin at ungodly hours and even taking revolver practice against the wall opposite my armchair. I am tall and lean, with black hair and a clean-shaven face. whilst some people see me as a 'busy-body, medldler and even a Scotland Yard jack-in-office' it is just simply my business to know what others do not.

My Interests

I enjoy my work more than anything. My second passion after crime is chemistry. You may find me in the music halls or at the opera. I like to play my Stradavarius violin and I like the artwork of the modern Belgian masters. 'Art is balm to the mind'. I also have a weakness for strong tobacco, and when my mind has no work, I find myself in need of a little 'stimulation', namely cocain or morphine. I also enjoy Beekeeping and philosophy.

I'd like to meet:

I would like to meet anyone with an interesting enough problem to stretch my intellect.

Music:

I like German music best, the French and Italian works do not suit me. I especially like Bach, Mozart, Tchaikovsky. Also Chopin is very gifted and his work is superb.

Movies:

I don't know what a "film" is.

Television:

Neither do I comprehend "television".

Books:

I don't have much time for literature. But I do read the daily newspapers and the crime journals. If i do read, it is generally Dickens or Shakespeare or Gustave Flaubert.

Heroes:

I admire a great many people, Dr Joseph Bell for example, is a man truly worthy of recognition and admiration.
