The search for happiness and peace of mind... Is it attainable? Yeah, I think so!
spiritual, liberated people down with the source, oneness, the fabric of the universe, etc. Please, nobody too focused on the rat race.
All kinds... I'm discovering Young Gods, Faithless and the Cardigans right now. Some faves: Oingo Boingo, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Opeth, Tricky, The Postal Service, Caetano Veloso, Mos Def, Blackalicious, Chemical Bros., Autechre, Aphex Twin, Hepcat, the Aquabats, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Devo, Pet Shop Boys, Bebel Gilberto, Jurassic 5, Fear Factory, Tenacious D, Triumph the Insult Comic Dog, Portishead, Cibo Matto, Sneaker Pimps, Quentin Tarantino soundtracks, Ozomatli, Deep Dish, the Rugburns, Powerpuff Girls cd's, Perfect Circle, Tool, The Mars Volta, blahblahblahblah. Oh, yeah, and the sound of fingernails on chalkboard. Hmmm... and that ringing sound from rubbing the edge of a crystal glass filled with water. Oh, and especially the beautiful noises my bird Daisy makes... And the dreamy singing of a certain someone.
Recent cool movie I've seen: A Very Long Engagement .... it's fantastic, very romantic. Jeunet is a brilliant director... Alucarda is awesome Mexican American filmmaking with lots of screaming and satanic invocations and bushy pubic hair.... High Tension is the best horror movie i've seen in some time... and Good Morning by Ozu is the warmest, funniest family movie ever. Happiness of the Katakuris is up there too tho...
Most of the awesome shows are cancelled... Well, I guess it makes sense. Since I don't watch that much TV, I'm the worst fan a TV show could have. Faves: Family Guy, Futurama, old Ren + Stimpy, AquaTeen Hunger Force, TV Funhouse, Sealab 2021, and that show about the bounty hunting family on HBO is pretty sweet... Does anybody remember Freakazoid?!?
Mostly non-fiction is what I like. Anything that's semi anti-corporate usually strikes my fancy.Lately: The Serpent and the Rainbow by Wade Davis, Beowulf , 100 Love Sonnets by Pablo Neruda, The Elegant Universe by Brian Greene, The Handbook of Yoruba Religious Concepts by Baba Ifa Karade, Tao Te Ching .Favorite book of all time: This Is It by Alan Watts.
