My Bio
Alex Henry FosterSinger - Songwriter
Your Favorite Enemies
Coming from a financially challenged family, Alex grew up to the rhythm of several relocations, many school changes and emotional uncertainties. Those years of exclusion, marginalization and isolation breathed violence and fury into Alex’s life which eventually led him to a Neo Nazi movement, where he quickly became a leader. Having a passion for music and literature since childhood, Alex evolved within the artistic field in spite of these political activities. He sang for two rock bands, The Swindlers and The Nixons.
However, after four years of producing a Racist and Revisionist editorial newspaper, organizing fascist conferences and concerts, his Christian father led him to leave this environment for good at the age of 18. The introspection following his departure from these extreme right movements fostered in Alex an intense desire to participate in debates concerning social disparities. In addition, he wanted to fight against racial and economic discrimination. He abandoned the music scene to become a social worker and help challenged immigrant families in the fight against discrimination.
A short time after his return from a humanitarian mission trip to Haiti, Alex met Steph Lemelin, a young guitarist and social worker. This meeting allowed him to rediscover the impact of music as a tool for sensitization and led to the creation of the band called The Riddlers. Since then, Alex has become a strong leader and spokesperson for Amnesty International and Artist Against Racism, a speaker for conferences around North America and the social conscious artists organisation founder of Rock N Rights.
The disbandment of The Riddlers which came after 6 years of touring, album recording and big time dreaming, allowed Alex to found the rock alternative band In This Life in June 2003 before joining Your Favorite Enemies. His experience and vision of life inspired a movie scheduled to be release in 2007.
