I am here for Friends

About Me

I love public transportation. And going on Greyhound bus trips. Yes, I said I love Greyhound bus trips. I've only driven twice since 1995; nothing traumatic, just no need. I like writing letters and mailing strange packages and buying new kinds of stamps every time I go to the post office. They hate me at the post office. I'm often insomnia girl. I think too much. Know me well enough or get enough alcohol in me, and I'll talk too much, too. But mostly I'm shy to the point of neurosis. I once spent the drive between Portland and Seattle (3 hours) answering the question, "What scares you?" I know what I want, but never give myself enough credit. I'm a vegetarian who hates vegetables. I'm always 100% me and I've learned that a lot of people can't handle that. That's fine with me. My favorite thing in the world is sitting around with a good friend or a few of them, drinking beer, talking, and listening to music. I love it when a song is so good that the room goes silent. I hate living far away from everyone I care about. I don't regret much. I prefer being one of the boys to hanging out with girls. Most of the time, I'm too good for my own good. I like making strangers happy. I hate surprises, but love it when my mailbox is full. Um, haven't I said enough? If you have any questions, I'll most likely provide an honest answer. Or if I don't want to answer it, I'll just glare at you until you forget you asked me something. I am a total dork for a number of reasons. Only one of them is my love for the International Phonetic Alphabet. Oh, and I'm learning German because it's so close to Old English. I can't help it; I was a linguistics minor and I will not refrain from making stupid grammar jokes. Apparently, I'm the kind of girl my friends think of instantly when they see things like cock-flavored soup (take that as you will). In my secret fantasies, I am the lovechild of Leonard Cohen and Pat Benatar.

bad goth poetry (isn't that redundant?)
