Kresimir Horvat is a 24 year old singer-songwriter from Cakovec, Croatia. At the age of four, his grandfather bought a piano for his older brother and him. That was the moment when Kresimir started living through music. Soon he started attending the music school, but shortly afterward, the civil war started in his home town of Vukovar. His family lost everything they had. After moving to the town Cakovec, he continued his musial education and finished the primary music school for piano. At the age of 15 he started playing guitar getting his first lessons from his uncle. Just after a few mounths of playing he formed his first demo band "Default" playing rock music, and started doing shows and recording demo tapes."That was the greatest time of my life, when you are sixteen and you play in a rock band, having concerts.Everything was new and exciting for me at that time". After he has changed a few bands finally he found his independence as a singer-songwriter. He wrote his first songs playing a piano and now you can hear him on piano and guitar too."I always loved rock music and i couldn´t just play piano" His first guitar was electric and he loved to play Beatles songs. "My father went to college to become an english teacher just because of the Beatles, so you can imagine how much we listened to the Beatles at home".
Now Kresimir plays mostly acoustic guitar finding his influence in artists like David Gray, John Mayer and others.
Most of his songs were recorded by himself at his home playing all instruments and producing the material on his own. Now he lives in Cakovec and studies in Zagreb.
In 2005 he has won the first prize on a festival for young musicians which led him to record his first studio tape. His music was then featured on radio charts.
