My Interests

I'm a single mum of a 7 year old son called Dylan whom I really adore. I totally LOVE music. Unfortunately I don't play any instrument myself ( well, not yet... too impatient), but my vinyl-collection is quite large and the amount of cd's in my cupboard is ever increasing.Been to quite a few gigs, last one was Venice, and it was absolutely fantastic!! ! I love dancing, no ballroom, just shakin'it all about. I love to read a good book when I can, but I also like the outdoors :I've travelled quite a bit (around Europe, Africa, India, Sri Lanka) I enjoy cooking and I'm not bad at making my grandma's applepie. I don't practise any religion but my look on life leans towards Buddhism. I'm crazy about animals. Over the years I have had quite a few pets. (cats, dogs, rabbits, fish, rats, birds)None at the moment though.

I'd like to meet:

Anyone from anywhere really. People who are passionate about music, but also worry about the state of the world we live in.(Global warming, the ever increasing right-winged mentality) People who can see the beauty of things around us like the first rays of the sun, a rainbow, frost on the window pane, when the sun sparkles on the water... But also people who like a real good laugh and can see the funny side in life.

Music:

Definitely Top of my favourites' list is the late great Billy Mackenzie(what a voice!)and Kate Bush is a very close second!! But I'm into loads of stuff like the 1970's Southern California-sound(Eagles,Jackson Browne,Venice,CSNY etc.),the 80's(New Romantics, New Wave, Ska), Many of Motown greats (especially Marvin Gaye),I love Jazz ( Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughn,Miles Davis,Hubert Laws, Grover Washington jr,Stanley Turrentine, Courtney Pine, George Benson, Al Jarreau, Tania Maria and ofcourse the lovely Jamie Cullum) and of course wherever my mood takes me ...

Movies:

I love Bollywood films, but the following are also my faves:Le fabuleux destin d'Amelie Poulain, Un long dimanche fiancailles, Betty Blue, Down by Law, Lost in translation,Most Woody Allen films,Life of Brian,Hair, Tommy, Saturday Night Fever (especially the soundtrack), Cinema Paradiso, de Aanslag, Una giornata Particolare,Trainspotting, the Full monty, Jesus Christ Superstar, and many more

Television:

Any British comedies. My faves are: the Young Ones, Bottom, Absolutely fabulous, French'n Saunders, Vicar of Dibley,Only fools and Horses, Porridge, Fawlty Towers etc. etc. I love anything with James Nesbitt in it but I have to admit that I also watch Eastenders and Neighbours when I can.

Books:

Catcher in the Rye - J.D. Salinger,On the road - Jack Kerouac,Brideshead revisited - Evelyn Waugh,The Fall - Albert Camus, Books by Hanif Kureishi, Roald Dahl, Astrid Lingren

Heroes:

My late mum and dad. Miss you guys!

Trees (for mum)

I think that I shall never see A poem lovely as a tree. A tree whose hungry mouth is prest against the earth's sweet flowing breast; A tree that looks at God all day, And lifts her leafy arms to pray....

Bright eyes

My beautiful boy babbled on time He sat up; he walked, showing good signs His eyes were bright and clear His smile so dear Suddenly things began to change Struggling to speak and the brightness began ...
