Hello and welcome.After finishing a Masters in Journalism at the Uni of Sunderland I believe that the main thing I achieved in doing journalism was becoming disillusioned with the career choice. I still enjoy the idea of football reporting and even hard news writing, but the prospect of a trainee job with low wages and working every hour in the day is a put off for me – plus a few hints from people in the industry has made me explore other options available to me and that’s why now I’m a Trainee fireman in the making.I’ve passed all the stages of recruitment and it’s now a matter of when I start – either April of September’s course. So pounding the roads and getting to the gym as much as I can to improve my strength and fitness – I’ve had a taster training day and these guys are tough and I’ve had a taster of what’s expected of me if I’m to get through the course.Easy going teetoller, with a bit of a fitness bug - swimming, rock climbing, running, cycling and heading to the gym are usually incorporated into my week - goodbye Kite!Sunderland supporter for my sins in a previous life, but hopefully with Mr Roy Keane in charge and a wad load of cash from Drumaville, SAFC is on the way up...Ha'way, we've suffered enough embarrassing relegations from the Prem already.Enjoy watching my mates become p*ssed messes on nights out.
