MelissaMusic

Mellissamusic is a new record label, artist management and publishing company that started in April 2006 by George Pentzikis and Tassos Karapanagiotidis. Its aim is to discover and promote quality music from various genres. It is based in Thessaloniki, within the Magnanimous recording studios (www.magnanimous.gr), which is a well-known and perfectly equipped place with the ability to cover all the creative and technical needs of the label. Chrysallis and Trio Balkano are the first two artists who are signed to Melissamusic and who have just released their debut albums.

Trio Balkano was formed in 1999 by experienced musicians who were trying to express the Greek musical tradition. They created a music style that combines ethnic elements with jazz improvisations, a style which is known as "Balkan jazz". Their music is characterized by originality, adaptability, emotional strength and by the mutual influence of their sounds. Their debut album "Sometime Now" is out now.

Chrysallis was formed back in 2001 but took its present form within 2005. It is a group of five young people that has its very own unique rock music style. The band expresses what suffocates them, moves them, makes them think, dream and feel. Most of their verses are full of allegories and various sentiments. Chrysallis recorded their first cd "Olou tou Kosmou oi Skies" earlier this year.
