Monster Pete and the Chiefs

...taking over the world

About Me

Monster Pete and the Chiefs formed in the late 1990s, when high schoolers Pete and Tom left the band Pirates of Suburbia. Inspired by Phil Dirt's KFJC surf music show, MP+TCs played parties, clubs, record stores, high schools, surf rock shows and teen centers, recording the "Serpentine!" album in the summer of 1998. The following summer they embarked on "Pocketful of Napalm '99", a tour of Northern California and Nevada, and recorded at James Stewart's (I.B.O.P.A., Ten in the Swear Jar, Xiu Xiu) Fort Awesome. After playing sporadically over the next year or two, they laid down their instruments -- two guitars, bass, organ and drums -- until the summer of 2006.
