"I'm Alive"
I'm alive - To live today
I'm alive - To smoke weed and play
I'm alive - With a lot to say
I'm alive - And I'm feeling great
I'm alive - Don't need advice
I'm alive - Don't wanna tell you twice
I'm alive - I'm cold as ice
I'm alive - It's oh so nice
I'm alive - And it feels so right
I'm alive - Another lovely night
I'm alive - Well it's outta sight
I'm alive - Ain't no need to fight
I'm alive - TO play with my band
I'm alive - With my bass in hand
I'm alive - Whoa, ain't it grand?
I'm alive - Now we gonna jam
I'm alive - Right here, my friend
I'm alive - Until the very end
I'm alive - With a hand to lend
I'm alive - And down low we ben
I'm alive - Just doin' my thing
I'm alive - And it makes me sing
I'm alive - With some funk to bring
I'm alive - Do you know what I mean?
I'm alive - Smokin' on my bong
I'm alive - Singin' this here song
I'm alive - Well, I'm feelin strong
I'm alive - There ain't a damn thing wrong
I'm alive - I do the best I can
I'm alive - With my calloused hands
I'm alive - Smokin' weed in the van
I'm alive - Another Fishbone fan

"Heres to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The trouble-makers.The round heads in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They're not fond of rules, and they have no respect for the status-quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. But the only thing you can't do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do." -Jack Kerouac

"I suggest we learn to love ourselves before its made illegal" -Brandon Boyd
"If you're so pro-life, do me a favour: don't lock arms and block medical clinics. If you're so pro-life, lock arms and block cemeteries." -Bill Hicks
"Now I can say loudly and openly what I have been saying to myself on my knees. " -Duke Ellington
"I don't want to give any advice to a 19-year-old, because I want a 19-year-old to make mistakes and learn from them. Make mistakes, make mistakes, make mistakes. Just make sure they're your mistakes." -Fiona Apple
"Don't play what's there, play what's not there." -Miles Davis
"Do it right or don't do it at all. That comes from my mom. If there's something I want to do, I'm one of those people that won't be satisfied until I get it done. If I'm trying to sing something and I can't get it, I'm going to keep at it until I get where I want it." -Ray Charles
"What happens to a dream deferred?
Does it dry up
like a raisin in the sun?
Or fester like a sore
And then run?
Does it stink like rotten meat?
Or crust and sugar over
like a syrupy sweet?
Maybe it just sags
like a heavy load.
Or does it explode?" -Langston Hughes
"Take what you can from your dreams, make them as real as anything." -Dave Matthews
"First of all, the music that people call Latin or Spanish is really African. So Black people need to get the credit for that. " -Carlos Santana
"It's better to burn out, than to fade away. " -Neil Young
"Being a star has made it possible for me to get insulted in places where the average Negro could never hope to go and get insulted." -Sammy Davis, Jr.

"I'm gonna make a gospel record and tell Jesus I cannot bear these burdens alone. " -Aretha Franklin
"The only thing better than singing is more singing" -Ella Fitzgerald
"In our minds, love and lust are really separated. It's hard to find someone that can be kind and you can trust enough to leave your kids with, and isn't afraid to throw her man up against the wall and lick him from head to toe." -Tori Amos
"I am a prince I have it all, and I hear your foot steps on the wall, I wait in silence for your call, and take a shot and watch you fall." -Trey Anastasio
"An eye for eye only ends up making the whole world blind." -Mohandas Gandhi
"I've never had a humble opinion. If you've got an opinion, why be humble about it?" -Joan Baez
"I have a simple life. I mean, you just give me a drum roll, they announce my name, and I come out and sing. In my job I have a contract that says I'm a singer. So I sing." -Tony Bennett
"I decided that I would be one of the biggest new names; and I actually had some little fancy business cards printed up to announce it, 'Count Basie. Beware, the Count is Here.'" -Count Basie
"People are always asking me about eskimos, but there are no eskimos in Iceland." -Bjork

"Christianity will go. It will vanish and shrink. I needn't argue with that; I'm right and I will be proved right. We're more popular than Jesus now; I don't know which will go first - rock and roll or Christianity. " -John Lennon
"On stage I make love to twenty five thousand people; and then I go home alone. " -Janis Joplin

"It's probably foolish to expect relationships to go on forever and to say that because something only lasts 10 years, it's a failure." -James Taylor
"Don't gain the world and lose your soul, wisdom is better than silver or gold." -Bob Marley
"When I met her, I showed her my kilos of symphonies and sonatas. She started to read them and suddenly came out with a horrible sentence: “It's very well written.” And stopped, with a big period, round like a soccer ball. After a long while, she said: “Here you are like Stravinsky, like Bartók, like Ravel, but you know what happens? I can't find Piazzolla in this.” And she began to investigate my private life: what I did, what I did and did not play, if I was single, married, or living with someone, she was like an FBI agent! And I was very ashamed to tell her that I was a tango musician. Finally I said, “I play in a night club.” I didn't want to say cabaret. And she answered, “Night club, mais oui, but that is a cabaret, isn't it?” “Yes,” I answered, and thought, “I'll hit this woman in the head with a radio....” It wasn't easy to lie to her. She kept asking: “You say that you are not pianist. What instrument do you play, then?” And I didn't want to tell her that I was a bandoneon player, because I thought, “Then she will throw me from the fourth floor.” Finally, I confessed and she asked me to play some bars of a tango of my own. She suddenly opened her eyes, took my hand and told me: “You idiot, that's Piazzolla!” And I took all the music I composed, ten years of my life, and sent it to hell in two seconds." -Ástor Piazzolla
