Main Street Theater

The one that USED to be on Main Street ...

About Me

Main Street Theater was founded in 1975 to meet two needs: to offer Houston theatergoers more varied and challenging theatrical productions and to provide a venue for training, employment and exposure for our city's professional artistic residents.
Now located in a formerly abandoned dry cleaning plant in the Rice Village on Times Blvd., MST has developed an intimate playing style in a small theatre and produces a wide variety of entertaining and thought provoking fare.
The Youth Theater Company was established to present the best dramatic literature for children and families. Housed at our Chelsea Market location on Montrose, 5 to 6 productions based on literature are produced each season.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Do you think the theater costs too much? Do you think it is too old and stodgy? Is it not relevant to your world? You are who we want to meet!
Main Street Theater makes theater accessible for everyone with its special Student Discounts and Rush tickets. Try it, you'll like it. And if you don't, it cost no more than popcorn and a movie!
MainStage Shows
What better way to spend a night out? Grab your tickets early and have dinner at one of the many hot spots in Rice Village. After the show, finish off the night with drinks at Baker Street or the Gingerman. Maybe you can track the cast down at the Kelvin Arms!
The evening of the performance, students can get specially priced $10 tickets at the door, starting 90 minutes before curtain. (Opening Night and Previews Excluded)
Other patrons can take advantage of our Rush Hour. All seats left at the door, starting 90 minutes before curtain, are 50% off the regular price for 1 hour. Rush Hour ends 30 minutes before curtain. (Opening Night and Previews Excluded)
Youth Theater Shows
Take a family of four to the movies and you probably spend more than $40 on tickets, sodas and popcorn. Why not experience the thrill of live theater? Adults are only $11 and Children and Senior Citizens are $9! It's cheaper than a movie and lots more fun!
