Recently the students at Eastern Shore Dance Academy had the opportunity to participate in the Hometown Heroes Hip Hop Workshop at Anne Arundel Community College (AACC) where they were trained by Chris Scott, Jamile McGee [from the TV Show "So You Think You Can Dance?"] and Lance Guillermo [dancer from the Touchstone Home Entertainment movie "Step Up"]. In December of 2006 they also had the opportunity to take a Hip Hop master class from professional dancer Staci Alexander, a former member of The Young Americans; a touring group that performs all across the U.S. In November of 2006 ESDA students also participated in The Maryland Council for Dance where they took several classes including, a hip hop class by Lance Guillermo.
