Go ahead and blame Canada for the underground vibes of DJ Kio Kio, whose sexy, funky, progressive house beats, are putting a creative spin on an already diverse dance scene. Of Italian descent but born in North Bay, Ontario, Kio Kio was educated at York University in Toronto before moving to Miami Beach to pursue a career in music mixology.South Florida's music scene of the late 1990's was a perfect environment for Kio Kio to find his musical voice (as well as his name, derived from his real name, Carlo Chiocchio). Five years of residency on the beach, including a two-year residency at one of the country's top after-hours club "PUMP", ensured that Kio Kio was indeed on the right path. Since then, he has been heard across the continent in cities such as Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, and Vancouver. While currently residing in Los Angeles, Kio Kio has also achieved visits across the Pacific, and exotic destinations such as Hawaii and Singapore have been added to his repertoire.Over time, Kio Kio's style has evolved into a blend of erotic beats and unique sounds, featuring hints of Danny Tenaglia's progressive edge, Little Louie Vega's brilliant tribal productions, and SuperChumbo's twisted take on house. Whether it be a beach party, an evening bash or an afterhours event, Kio Kio's unique style is sure to keep you dancing.
