St. Gerard

I was a son of a tailor who died when I was 12, leaving our family in poverty. I tried to join the Capuchins, but my health prevented it;I was accepted as a Redemptorist lay brother serving my order as sacristan, gardener, porter, infirmarian, and tailor. Wonder worker.When I was falsely accused by a pregnant woman of being the father of her child, I retreated to silence; she later recanted and cleared me, and thus began my association as patron of all aspects of pregnancy. Reputed to bi-locate and read consciences. My last will consisted of the following small note on the door of my cell: "Here the will of God is done, as God wills, and as long as God wills."
