und morgen, der asphalt started in 2003 as a vienna based project that combined sampled beats, german lyrics, a voice you have to get used to (so they say), and a lot of analog Instruments like E- and A-guitar, piano, bass, accordeon, etc. all played as best as we can (/could). The Ep you can listen to on myspace or our internetlabel 12rec in full lenght is a first try (although it took us quite long to produce it). In its best moments it points forward to the vague musical "vision" that I always have in mind. It involves a wide range use of samples from all possible sources, a kind of dark atmossphere with certain light moments, tight beats, a transparent mix and "at its heart" lyrics that deal with something different than love, relationships, and the depression of an individual... So the themes are situated a bit above this sphere, so often stressed by pop lyrics of all kind. In its worst moments... Let me put it that way: When does music begin?
