About Me

Betsie Larkin is a vocalist/writer/performer out of Venice, CA with music spanning rock, folk, and electronica in distinctive combinations. She began recording music and performing in Boston, MA with her former, mainly electronic-based band. They relocated to Los Angeles, touring west coast venues, and completing their second record. The album received glowing reviews from music mags and local press as well as airplay from KROQ in LA and college radio. Shecter guitars added them to their artist roster after hearing about the band and seeing a live show in Los Angeles at the Roxy on Sunset Boulevard.Last year Betsie completed an album entitled Mariposa with producer Brendan Hawkins (Jane's Addiction and Porno for Pyros). Initially, the record appealed mostly to an underground audience. After being feautured in Cathay Pacific's in-air radio with artists Modest Mouse and Jem, programming on VH1 and MTV, and on Emoto's music compilation with the Dandy Warhols and New Order, their popularity grew.Betsie recently completed a record titled Diary Thief with a group of good friends in Venice, CA. She was awarded an ASCAP merit award for her diverse musical offerings in the year. She is currently working on her first full-length solo record in New York. When she's not recording, you can catch her performing live locally. Betsie played a residency at New York's Pianos for the month of September and continues make appearances.
