Like the quote of the Kris Kristofferson song in 'Taxi Driver', I'm a walking contradiction, partly truth and partly fiction. I'm a nice guy, but being too nice is kinda sickening.Really,really nice people are absolutely no fun to be with and they come off pretty fake. There are people in the world who will walk all over nice guys if you don't lay down the law. I'm a school teacher, working in downtown Troy. I teach pre-math, pre-reading,and model socially appropriate behavior, but i gotta get my metal fix in there on the weekends. I love gorey horror movies, action flicks,war movies, but I'm not a fighter or a violent person. I do believe in standing up for myself and occasionally have been known to use well placed words to defend myself. I like tattoos but i'm not a badass, don't even wanna be one. I'm a homo but I'm not into the gay culture (the promiscuity,the projected self-loathing, e.g.: "attitude",the gender identity confusion, the obesession with sex and the disregard of the value of relationships and love) that I see in it. Yet, i'm not a prude or a wet shirt. Gay bars bore me. I'd rather be at Valentines or Northern Lights listening to a band. I meet homos at those places too. I have high moral standards and believe in taking care of myself, and not accepting help from others, but i'm not religious or conservative. I like to have fun but fun is not enough to make life full. I have to do something that makes a difference some way, in the corner of the world in which i live. the 80's i was a deadhead. I definitely have an appreciation for all things "out there" (in a fun way). I go to see a lot of local bands..favorites are: Society High, Murderer's Row,Corn Bred,Dead Rabbits.
Stuff i'm interested in: teaching, human services,reading about people who've overcome adversity,spicy food,people watching,gorey horror movies,60's and 70's cult movies, creative people,visiting my family, checking out museums,philosophy,voting, being independent, laughing as much as possible, "out there" humor
