Doing it for ourselves...

About Me

We started off in 1992 as TheseSilentEdges, when we all first met and spent the next six years chasing a deal. Spent loads of time writing, rehearsing, recording both on portastudios in barrack blocks and in 24 track studios. Got plenty of regional airplay on the likes of KLFM, BFBS, TrentFM, 1170AM and others, and an embryonic management deal, but the final prize always seem to elude us. Recorded an album in someones front room in Leytonstone in 1996, made more demo's, played lots of shows, travelled lots of miles and we made lots of friends.

Then, real life intervened and we took a ten year sabbatical and went away to grow up. Although we never lost the music and we were always proud of what we achieved there was always that feeling that there was unfinished business and that other factors had brought the curtain down, rather than it being our own decision.

Well, now we are back, older and wiser. No longer slaves to chasing a deal, we have two main motivations.

One, to create, to enjoy what we do. Music is one of the most powerful cross-language forms of communication we have. We still have something to say.

Two, to write for other people. Between the four of us, we have a back catalogue of works going back a long time, which we are prepared to licence to interested parties. Even if we may not be able to make a commercial success of our material, it doesnt mean that anyone else cannot.

We are writing new material all the time, from Soundtracks for screenplays to songs that are about things that are close to our hearts; from the decimation of the environment, illegal hunting and the things that affect human relationships.

We are also looking at forming our own label and publishing company to look after our interests. ..if the rest of the industry isnt going to do it for us, we have to do it ourselves. If you do have any interest in licensing or recording any part of our catalogue (the four tracks here are a taster) please dont hesitate to get it touch.

Minds are like parachutes. They work best when they are open. We hope you enjoy what we do.

ThanksSH.
