I am here for Friends

About Me

Hello everyone, I am here on Myspace to share in kindness, lift and be lifted, exchange philosophies, and share a laugh or two. If your looking to send a friend request to kick your numbers up a notch, and to never stay in touch, don't bother. I believe friendships are meant to be shared.
I've been contentedly married for 25 years and we have two grown children. I have built my life around my marriage and children for they have been the most important and meaningful part of my life.
I am a conservative when it comes to things that matter to me and to my home. But, I do like to let my hair down and have fun too.
My passion is travel. I am interested in art, love to cook (especially southern cooking), enjoy things of beauty including a beautiful spirit and soul, love music (particularly classic rock), ballroom dance and martial arts, to name just a few.
I grew up from humble beginnings for which I am thankful. It taught me to be appreciative, creative, resourceful, and have a hard work ethic. I believe we are a product of our genetics and life experiences, and each of us has something special to offer.
I respect and value truthfulness, integrity, and patience. I always try to look at the bigger picture and not live "for" the moment. However, I do enjoy being "in" the moment. I usually think first with my head then follow my heart. I am a believer in Jesus Christ and have seen him work through me and in my life. I am in no way without sin but I am mindful of His presence in my life each day. I enjoy meeting and talking with decent people, particularly people with wisdom and good common sense.

"Life is not measured by the breaths we take, but by the moments and places that take our breath away"

"It is not the
length of life,
but depth of life."
~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

I'd like to meet:

"Life is a song ~ sing it.
Life is a game ~ play it.
Life is a challenge ~ meet it.
Life is a sacrifice ~ offer it.
Life is a dream ~ realize it.
Life is Love ~ enjoy it."
~ Sai Baba

"People need people and friends need friends. We all need love for a full life depends not on vast riches or great acclaim, not on success or on worldy fame, but just in knowing that someone cares and holds us close in their thoughts and prayers. For only the knowledge that we're understood makes everyday living feel wonderfully good and we rob ourselves of life's greatest need when we "lock up our hearts" and fail to heed. The outstretched hand reaching to find a kindred spirit whose heart and mind are lonely and longing to somehow share our joys and sorrows and to make us aware that life's completeness and richness depends on the things we share with our loved ones and friends."~ Helen Steiner Rice

"Sometimes someone says something really small, and it just fits right into this empty place in your heart."
~ Unknown

A Harvest Moon is the full moon closest to the fall equinox. The Harvest Moon was named this because it rises within a half-hour of when the sun sets. In early days, when farmers had no tractors, it was essential that they work by the light of the moon to bring in the harvest. This moon is the fullest moon of the year. When you gaze at it, it looks very large and gives a lot of light throughout the entire night. No other lunar spectacle is as awesome as the Harvest Moon.
