I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

I was born in Texas and raised in upstate NY. No, I have never been to NY city. I lived in the OTHER part of the state. I got tired of the snow and cold so I moved to TN. I've been here for almost 8 years now and it is home.I stay pretty busy. I have been a vet tech for the past 6 1/2 years and currently work at a very large animal hospital. Everyday brings something new. When I am not at the clinic, I am usually training dogs. I started my own dog training business in late 2005. I do home training, where I go to people's homes and teach them how to train their dogs using positive reinforcement. I teach people how to have a better relationship with their dogs. When I am not working at either of those two jobs, I am either taking care of the pets we have at the house or at search and rescue training. I am part of a Nashville based K9 SAR team that does Wilderness, Disaster, and Human Remains Detection. I have a cute little muttling furkid, Karma, that is my wilderness dog and Abbi, another muttling furkid that is my HRD dog. Abbi's motto... "I smell dead people".We have a couple other dogs and a couple of cats and 5 or so fish tanks that keep me busy in whatever free time is left.I also love to read, hike, camp, and eat sushi!
Great myspace layouts

Music:

I like a wide variety of music. I stay away from rap and the hard stuff. Pretty much if I can't understand the lyrics I'm not interested. It all depends on what kind of mood I'm in. I really like sappy ballads and 80's music. Altan, Bruce Hornsby, Counting Crows, Chris LeDoux, Garth Brooks, John Secada, Phil Collins, Bach, They Might Be Giants, Natalie Merchant, Sarah McLachlan, Tim McGraw, Blessed Union of Souls, Jann Arden, Lisa Loeb, Chris Gains

Movies:

I like sappy tear-jerkers and good comedies. I am a big sissy, so I don't like too much of the scary stuff.Monty Python and the Holy Grail, The Princess Bride, Rocky Horror Picture Show, Pulp Fiction, The Matrix movies, Dead Poets Society, anything by M. Night Shyamalan, 50 First Dates, Secondhand Lions, Adventures in Babysitting, The Hannibal movies.

Television:

I don't watch tv anymore. But when I did, my all time favorite show was a BBC show, Red Dwarf. I also liked CSI, Without a Trace, Survivor, Family Guy and some others that I can't think of right now.

Books:

Anything by Stephen King. I really like true crime, books on viruses (The Hot Zone by Richard Preston), autobiographies, and books on dog training and behavior. Bridges of Madison County, anything by Michael Crichton.

Memories Creep

It’s funny how memories creep.  You are going about life, not doing anything in particular, when a memory slides in uninvited.  It’s ok when it is a happy memory.  Those we ...

Tornado Search and Recovery
