born in a cosmopolitan, musical family with czech background and a liechtenstein
citizenship. grew up at the german-french-swiss border in the city of basel in a
tradition of medieval drumming.
at the age of ten, switch to drumset and percussion and gigging thruout
highschool-years with numerous bands and ensembles reaching from funk- and
bigband to theater- and classical gigs including the first 3 vinyls/cds
1987-1991 hochschule for music and representative arts in austria: diploma cum
laude with the bundespreis/award of the ministery of culture. during that time
recording and extensive touring with timesquare (first laptops onstage: 1991),
tangavan (tango nuevo-ensemble), brave new slaves (worldfunk), via brasil (new
brazilian composers) and many large and small jazz-ensembles.
1988 scholarship:berklee music college 1992:postgraduate scholarship. award at
the national jazzcontest and finalist at the europ jazz contest in bruxelles.
since 2001 coordinating the producing department of the musikhochschule basel and the cefedem of lyon.
