ABOUT SVEN
The Braunschweig-based DJ and producer SVEN WASCHINSKI, known as the head of the label S-TONE, was born in 1979.
Already in younger years he developed an immense interest for music and whatever goes along with it. Countless artists like Boy George, Rififfi and Inner City are some of his favorites.
Later, during the middle of the 1980s, Sven was attracted to the sort of music that was - back then - known as Underground Music, which was silhouetted against mostly commercial music trends. The TV show Housefrau (English: housewife) presented different DJs like Terrence Parker, Tyree Cooper and Frankie Knuckles to SVEN and made him familiar with the scene on a weekly basis. For the young DJ it felt like those DJs were mixing miscellaneous records and combining them to an everlasting beat.
Notwithstanding the big impact of the artists mentioned above, SVEN developed his very one style over the following years.
At C21, a former club in his hometown, he got the first opportunity to establish and introduce his own sound. Understandably, C21 did not stay the only club in which SVEN presented his proficiency and musical skills. Far from it! His one-of-a-kind style allowed him to play in different clubs all over Germany . Despite gigs in Nurnberg's Mach1, Gottingen's Savoy , Halle's Praetorian Club and at the Reincarnation Parade in Hannover , SVEN always stayed faithful to one club in his hometown Braunschweig, a club called Schwanensee. There he is engaged as the Resident DJ of the successful event series "HouseBesuch".
SVEN WASCHINSKI works in his own Studio on his upcoming releases. On the 10th of December SVEN's latest single "Ipanema Groove" will be released under the pseudonym "lo profundo del alma" on the label ZEBRA ZOO RECORDS.
At the beginning of 2006 SVEN already could register numerous successes with the debut single "Babylon Midnight" under the project SOULFUL BROTHERS. Beside 10 in the American Balance Record Pool Charts, the single also went straight into the German Dance Charts.
Likewise under the project SOULFUL BROTHERS the Remix for CLOUD 9's "HOW SHALL I ROCK THEE" on Jules Spinners label LOWERED RECORDINGS shot directly after publication in February 2006 to 7 in the xpressbeats.com sales charts.
Despite new House styles and trends, which obviously showed up in the last couple of years, SVEN WASCHINSKI stayed true to himself. He doesn't go for new styles and neither reorientate his music along those trends.
SVEN is optimistic about where he's going as a DJ by keeping it soulful and spiritual. "Some DJ's sell out as the trend in music change, I'm proud to say I've been playing the same style of music for 10 years now."
