This conversation made me so happy. Ed and I are discussing an article we both read about an artist couple we admire: "such hippynesss its awesome, proactive hippies though, urban hippies im very fond" **me too** **type to me** "im trying to absorb it all" "i found it all so optimistic,yes, of course i think their work is pretty great but it was really pleasant(?) being allowed into their conversation." **he has a temper** "what man doesnt?" **u** "hmm i dont think thats exactly true" i just do my best to restrain it because i know nothing good comes of it hmm im trying to complete a thought about men and anger" 1:05 AM **forget it** **get back to thr good** haha **yeah** "well i dont think i found anything i disagree with i do think i have a tendency to shy away from the more overtly hippy thinking but really i agree with it you know or rather i hope for it to be true and right um what it is is that i think often times hippy optimism lacks grounding in reality and seems unrealistic and that coupled with lack of action ie pot smoking lazies paints a bad picture of hippy ideas idealism thats why i like the idea of proactive hippy i think also thats why im so attracted to Ed templeton hes a total optimist hippy and he lives it although i think people are probably disposed towards not accepting that hippy title i mean it is assigned to so much gay ass shit! like peace signs and rainbows and whatnot! but really all of those things have great intentions but i think the problem is that sort of symbology at once denys the outside world or the reality of existence i thinking in the sense of a strictly defined hippy aesthetic and volkswagon van driving practive but recognizing the fuckedupness of it all and then making a conscious effort to rally against it all is very hippy as well proactive hippy and maybe a proactive hippy is just a punkl and what it is is that they are bouth juust empty ideas without action ya heard! man i love the fact that they talked about standing in front of the morris louis painting at the crysler i loved that damed painting and i would stand ther think ing about it and everything else all at once contextualing that painting with in the universe myself and that painting and our respective individual place with in the universe and the painting and i relate to each other and then individually with respect to everything else in the world" **You left the chat by logging out or being disconnected.**** i fell asleep during this if you can believe?! but, I awoke the next day to it on my computer screen.** I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4
